Polished/Chromed Door Handles for LS?

Anyone know if the center of the door handle on the 97 LS400 is a metal that can be polished or chromed?
I was thinking about polishing them or plating, as I am having the handles repainted.

Nothing coming up on the search...and I am not looking for the adhesive ones

i wouldn't polish them, if anything get them chrome if u can, easier to maintain
