For E class, autofashion in san diego gave me an estimate. it will cost you around $4100 for an air runner suspension.

It looks like the chasis tech kit. I don't know enough about air suspenion either, what makes the Airrunner kit that much more expensive? What more would i be getting for the extra $2k?

the big cars are all the same price only because its the air strtu all the way around. but for like scions and fits its cheaper, because the rear uses a seperate bag and shock. its not the custom strut.
the difference with airrunner with others is thats there own custom strut.

i cant answer that. i dont make it. but its just the sleeve and other parts they have to custom. i dont think you can just buy that sleeve.

this may be only if you're experienced with fabrication/air suspension as well as knowledgable about mercedes. with the new mercedes in particular have alot of electronics involved.
plus, air runner only makes an application for the 03- E320/E350.

you also forget that when you buy airrunner, its a bolt on affair. no cutting/welding anything.

~90% of their kits are bolt on. although the previa kit requires welding on the rears as well as mustang and some honda applications.

I'm located in North Carolina, Where are you from? From what I'm hearing air suspension is very expensive for
03- E320/E350.. 5 grand is taking up almost half of what I want to put into the project. Is there other suspension that would be comparable to Air runner?. I was planing on getting some fabulous aero kit and air suspension with some 20 inch rims. With the high cost of air suspension that would probably hold me back from getting all the set up.
Let's get deep into air suspension. with all the kit that include with the air set up. What other type of modification your guys suggest or hear about after the air suspension has put into place. Eveyone feel free to comment

boss-
I have a 98 C230, and I am having a shop fabricate the brackets for my airbags and installing them for me. The rest of the work (compressors, tank, fittings, valves) I am installing myself and I will do everything out the door for about $1600-1800. I know that certain minitruck shops that specialize in air bag suspensions would probably do the entire thing for you for around $3000...look into that. Meanwhile, check out

thats right, I think you really have a good point . The benz it self is a very luxuarious ride and very expensive to fix if something go wrong with the cheap air suspension. I think I keep this in mind. Maybe a couple of grand like tha air runner for $4100 would be more reliable and most trusted brand out there right now?. Correct me if im wrong. I guess with the estimate of $7,100 plus the rims and air suspension this would fit my budget.
Anyone that has air suspension already. Let me know is this the only thing you would need to replace or modified to the wheel set up in order for it to drive correctly without adjusting or replacing other parts that not include with the airrunner?

yes do it right and the way you want to and not the cheap way because of a budget. just save up and buy something you want versus something you may be unsatisfied with.
if you're going to get a custom air bag setup, talk with the shop thats going to be doing it first and ask him what types of cars he has done. dont ask straight up "have you worked on mercedes before?" or he'll just say yes. if he says "no" i probably wouldnt go to him. also research air bagging first on mercedes. i know a guy who was going to purchase air runner for his GS but instead chose the custom fabricated route because it was cheaper. right now he doesnt have a car because the guy who installed it fabricated the whole setup incorrectly and now its been in the shop for 2 months. the owner of the shop supposedly has 50 yrs of experience in bagging. the guy now wants to order air runner. doing it right the first time couldve saved him alot of money but he couldnt wait.
oh yeah im located in Northern California. i can get air runner as well. just PM me. also what wheels were you planning to get?

the air runner kits are pricey for a few reasons like billet construction, adjustable dampening and it's a bolt-on kit for most cars. if you compare them side by side to another kit you'll notice the build quality. there's a few other kits out that have high quality like boldworld and a few others. true you can build an air kit from scratch for cheaper but most people don't have the experience or knowledge to do it. by going w/ a premium kit like air runner all the homework is done for you so know your buying a reliable product.

HAHAHA he said primium kit.
Isnt that benz a seperat shock and spring combo. If so cups and bags and you done. Air runner isnt anything specal at all. Infack some of their kits they still tig weld on new shocks when the assemble them. Anything can be made bolt on using your noodle. If the car is a Mc pherson type then yes a slip on will be just fine HOWEVER stay far away from Chassis crap.
GO to the mini truck shop and save your money your not gaining buy buying Air runner. Infact they are charging Jap prices for shit they are building in the states.
Some day when I have the time I will post all this info on all the possabilities and some how to make it stuff.

You make it sound easier like anyone can do it. I know you can but how many experienced guys are there over here. Like autofashionG20 has said "you can build an air kit from scratch for cheaper but most people don't have the experience or knowledge to do it." I'd rather pay the couple thousands to buy a product guaranteed versus taking the risk through a custom shop who I don't know. DXJP, I think you should come over to the states and setup your own shop and make money off of us. =p
From what I heard though Air Runner was getting parts like Firestone bags, etc in the U.S. and assembling them in Japan. Then shipping it back to the U.S. and this is why it costs so much. Correct me if I'm wrong? Yeah I know it doesnt sound logical but thats what I heard.

Yeah 5 years ago. I know the owner of Air bomber very well. He also used to buy parts from me to assemble his kits, The air runer is his son doing it in the states. I know the parts are being built there.
As far as me doing kits there screw that there is no money in air anymore. Im finnishing up my newest suspension, (I have let some of the news out on the old forum) but to refresh everybody
Infinate ride adjustment
ride height adjustment with out the pain and hassle of air
Rde height and ride adjustment are seperate and does not effect the other
100% bolt on and smaller diamiter than the factory strut
Compact unit smaller than a 3 gal air tank
And thats all you get from me now on it.
By the way I can think of a couple hundred shops in the states capable of building a decent unit for alot cheeper. As long as they dont use chassis teck for a supplier you should be fine. As well if they cant gaurentee their wirk why bother. Also Airbomber/air runner require you to send in the warenty card at instalation or the warrenty is void.
