Best lighting for projector foglights??? (Opinions)

I'm looking for Opinions/thoghts/pics on what the best lighting is for projector foglights. I'm coming from non projector HID 10K fogs that I've enjoyed and I'm now switching to projector fogs. I don't have a whole lot of experience w/ various projector combos so I jus wanna know and see what's the difference between outputs of HID in proj. fogs VS if I use regular bulbs. I know the HIDs will be brighter but by how much, is it too bright and is it even worth it?

can you rock the same ballasts and just get rebased bulbs for your projectors?

but I'm jus wondering if it's even worth it to buy non HID type bulbs.

are the projectors made for hid or halognen? hid gives off more even light as well as brighter (significantly). if the projector has a cutoff then too bright isn't an issue, just keep them aimed down.

Lighting??  Or are you trying to make them weigh less by lightening them.

Haha...now as far as that goes, it's more on the design of the projectors and their cutoffs.  Will you be using a projector originally made for use for fogs?  Or just random projectors that could have been for headlights?  OG's question was a good one too.

good topic! I'm gonna have to freeload of the info in here...quick question though, make sure we're talking about the same thing - are you looking to fit projectors into your stock foggs, or going outside the box with it?

In my opinion i think you should use 5k-8k HIDs for your fogs because i have been doing some research on projectors because i was thinking bout retrofitting my headlights and they say anything higher than 8k has less light output on the road (correct me if im wrong)  I dont know what kind of Hids you have but if they are DDM i am interested in seeing how the light output is in the projector. 
Here are some HID KIts (they only range from 3k-6k) i was thinking about buying when i one day get projectors i wanted to use 6k.

Yea, I have the DDM shit for my headlights (8K) & have 10K in my fogs (clear glass). Output isn't too much of an issue to me. I've rocked 12K headlights and it was still good enough for me. but I have the ballast and everything wired, I jus need to get the bulbs and like I said the bulbs are CHEAP! so I'll buy a few and see what I like.
 
I'm not even sure if I'm gonna even keep these fogs
waiting to get the bumper back from paint to see it all fits and looks
I already realized, I shoulda splurged a lil more and searched for the more baller option

This is actually a pretty good topic. All my experiences with projector fogs, is the lighting sucks complete a-hole. The bulbs usually are to small. and H3 HID fog is a joke.. i will never buy fogs, that use that bulb ever. I had two cars that had that factory and wanted to put a bigger bulb in it.

yeah man the h3 is so small it didnt really put out any output. it was nice for matching wise.. but i like functionality. i would retro it with a h1 bulb for sure.

Well, the foglights didn't fit. So I'm in the process of making them fit :saiyancrunks:
Which involves me going back to playing w/ fiber glass again, which I never thought I'd have to mess w/ again LOL! :pat:
I rather pay to have fiberglass/bondo work done. DIY stuff is fun though. Makes you appreciate what you've done and give you a  since of accomplishment 

Hopefully I'll have them fully installed by tomorrow, then I can go get some bulbs monday and play w/ that. 

I here you on the H3s Kouki. Be nice to have the floor light up like my H11s did but I'll  settle if I can get the H3s to atleast look cool hahahaha

So a lil update on this project.
Fog lights are in and mounted. 
Tried to throw in some HID bulbs instead of regular H3 bulbs
HID bulbs wouldn't fit due to the back housing cover. Made some modifications, came up w/ some ideas and got them to fit and work.
I shoulda changed the title to my foglight project 



Lights project well, like they're suppose to but I haven't driven at night yet to see how they really light up. I went w/ 8K and I'm not to happy w/ the color, so when I feel like putting in work again, I'll go back to 10K I had w/ my old foglights

Stock H3 non HID bulb looked nasty!!! Color output was so bad. Non HID SUCKS ass LOL!


As far as the foglights overall. I like them because it's a whole different look and I really want to start changing up the car more but it's gonna take some getting use to. Not to sure if I'll rock these for long.

Makes me understand how the OG overseas just do stuff to try out and do different
The whole trial and error method.
Overall it was somewhat fun but well accomplished project. A little more expensive then I had planned but that's how it always goes when I DIY :pat: lol

hahaha well how bout these, some new  2010 H11 OEM Fusion Projector foglights for sale on hidplanet for $75 it has a video in the thread that shows you the output when using hid.
