F50 projectors

I wonder if the reason why its so crappy for night time light is due to the fact each projector is cut off by a metal half bubble.

So this is what my car sees when driving around haha

It's probably so the car has a proper cutoff line but I can see how it would limit the amount of light transmitted.

yeah, the "metal half bubbles" are the cutoff shields. without them you will throw light up as well as forward/down. the reason the llighting is so poor is because the size of the lens no doubt. they only allow so much light to be scattered only so far. on top of that each individual lens has to be aimed exactly to get a decent cutoff. i've seen a couple sets where this wasn't the case. these projectors are for cosmetics only as fas as i'm concerned.

i'd like to see an f50 with some better performing projectors retrofitted. i wonder how much it would change the look of the front end.

removing the cut off shields is a horrible idea.

the shields are what make the cut off line. if you remove them you will have as much light above the cut off as you do below.

THIS. It will actually make it harder to see because the light will be scattered all over and reflect back at you from street sign above and other random things rather than from the area and surfaces you actually want to see.

Right cutoff seems wrong. Like the projector came from a right hand drive car.

never though i would hear about cut off experts lol. All i know is i hate the contrast so much from seeing, and not seeing. Makes for to much stuff to just pop out at any time when going down a while as it flattens out to go up another hill.. which is a what we have a lot here in washington. I would much rather see forever

Same blurry cutoff on mine. Q45 projectors are not known for sharp cutoffs. Can't beat them as far as looks, right?

Yeah, your driver side projector is fine. Only the passenger side has the wrong cutoff. It' supposed to have the higher step to illuminate street signs.

Ohh Ok thats what i wanted to know, so every car that comes with projectors, has a higher cut-off on the right than the left? I never took notice  =)
