Just wanted to know

I just wanted to know what your opinions about buying cheaper rims like mrr instead of something like works or ssr. Would it be frowned upon since i didnt go all the way and get better rims?

1. Theyre cheaper
2. When I get better ones, i can see how much room i have to go more flush.
3. I can use them without worrying about hitting the curb.
4. really just practice driving very low.
 
Now they will be temporary until I'm comfortable spending $3000 on a nice set. I rather spend $900 and toss them away later than $3000 now and mess up. Let me know guys!

I think most of us have done just that. I started with moderate decreases in offset as I was learning and would buy,sell and trade my way up to better rims.  Thats the fun of learning what you like. GL

That's what I was hoping someone would say. I really just want a set of wheels I can lower my car on then firgure if I can get a bigger lip. thanks for the reply

i got work euroline type-n's, yes their Works but got them used for cheap, but sizes suck. but im ok with it, it got me to get air and get it looking good, their temps till i can get something redic lol.  many go threw multiple sets of wheels lol

I try to find good deals on the brand names and when they pop up I hop on it right away. Even if they're bad sizes you can always relip or something. I feel that the high end products can always resell for very good but knock offs don't

just try and find some used real wheels, thats probably your best bet unless you have no problem rolling with cheap wheels

I don't mind rolling on cheaper rims for now. I really don't want to mess up a nice set up because of my driving style. until I can keep my foot off the gas, Ill stick with cheaper stuff.

i personally feel like some of the mrr wheels are legit regardless of baller status. for example, if i had a 2gs i wouldn't think twice about running hr-2s.
 
i also agree that you can find legit baller wheels in the same price range if you're patient and wait for a steal.
 
i think the most important thing is to buy wheels you actually like; regardless of, and not solely because of, cost.

I agree with the waiting part but the thing about waiting is you might not find the right size. What I was planing on doing is buying a set of rims and if I could get more offset or more lip, I could when i go and pick up a better set. I was looking at the mmr gt1. I like the way they look plus I can pick up a set of 18s for around a grand. On top of the right size rims, I want stretched tires so thatll be some playing around.

i can't wrap my head around mrr's sizing being a selling point. they are all very weak spec wise. you could easily find similar style wheels, in similar sizing, of better quality in the same ball park.
 
i'd pass on the gt1 personally. fake multipiece wheels are lame.
 
mrr sources their wheels from a variety of sources vs actually manufacturing them. it's kind of a rare situation where some wheels are more acceptable than others.

Got them used for 600 then got some used tires till I could afford new ones.

How bout some BBS LM rep? I think they are around 1000 with tires or less for used ones.
