Water Transfer Printing (Dipping)

OG has linked up with H20Print to offer another great service to our customers.
 
Water transfer printing is an OEM grade process where images are printed on a special film which is then applied to the parts. The biggest advantage is the ability to cover irregular shaped objects. This means OEM fitment on your interior pieces vs. bulky overlays and faux finishes previous unavailable for various parts.
 
Parts will be prepped, dipped, and cleared with automotive grade clear coat.
 
Pricing varies (most 4 door interiors will run $1000-1500) based on size, prep needed, and disassembly time.

What parts can and can't be water tranfered?   Can you give us an idea of how much it would cost to do per piece?  or size matter or how many cut outs and curves the piece has?

Pretty much anything that can be submerged in water without damaging can be dipped. Items that can't be submerged can sometimes be sealed. From there, it is essentially the same guidelines as paint since automotive grade primers, basecoats, and clears are used.
 
The standard method of pricing is by the square inch, however we do not use that. There is so much variation in materials/prep based on the piece being done/desired finish/etc. that we would need to charge for a "worst case scenario" everytime to avoid losing money. Instead we quote each job specifically based on the parameters mention. The downside is that I  haven't done enough business to be able to give rough estimates without having the pieces in hand.
 
I'll get some pics up and some example pricing ASAP, however they will most likely bve personal projects so they will be done as funds are avilable.

thanks OG.   I've gotten response from other companies that say they can't match factory wood and I would have to get everything done including the stock wood all together to acheive a full matching set.  true?

I have run into the issue before. Sometimes you can't get a matching pattern (there are only a couple manufacturers of the films) and the best you can do is either tone match it or redo everything.

i'm doin my woodgrain in the black bird's eye finish....there is a shop bout 30-45 min north of me.....prolly my only interior mod lol
