I've been looking into the same thing. I guess the way to do is to just make a custom bracket for the fog lights out of fiberglass.

Same here, been thinkin of going this route lately
I know there a company in Japan that manufactures custom molds w/ dual fog lights but I think they are using full LED lighting :P
Also I know aimgain jus started selling inserts for their kits that you can get
I'd prefer something more clean like the ones you pictured
Panda is right though, gotta go custom fiberglass

diy. i know someone who has the authentic brabus quad foggs and he has replaced them 3 times because of stone chips that shatter the lenses. he just recently fitted some run of the mill circle fogs in there. not to mention that those brabus ones are in the 2 grand neighborhood.

Honestly, I would go quad fog projectors because they just look so much more VIP-ish *if I may*. Anything else would just look cheap IMO. And like a lot of people have told me "Do it right the first time".

You can try some E46 M3 fog covers example: Hamann.....or custom fiberglass like some others have stated. Mine are custom from an Alfa Romeo....updates on what I have been planning to come soon on the Infiniti/Nissan sub-forum.

Exactly... I tried to get the Brabus for it but they didn't have an application for the '08 which already has the AMG bumper as a standard option. Brabus tried to replicate the AMG bumper with the add-on lip. I also felt that the Brabus quad fogs lacked detail and are a smaller diameter. Overall, I'm very pleased with the way the R looks with these OEM quad fogs with the chrome rings...

downgrade to who? i'd swap the bumper for access to the lip and fogs (plus the fact to say it's brabus) in a heartbeat.

brabus (other than specialty models) tends to enhance the original styling cues while amg typically tries to create a new, more agressive look buy changing parts completely. it's not a matter of replicating, it's just a different approach at design.

In this case... I tend to disagree... The AMG bumper on this model looks much better than the add-on lip and over simplified quad fogs with the plain insert. I mean it was cool that they angled the fogs to flow with the headlights, but still wasn't feeling it. The AMG bumper is just a clean and more refined bumper and hangs lower than the 06-07 bumper with the brabus lip... Just my taste now... I'm not into the whole seams thing of a lip kit...

i'm personally not a fan of the catfish mouth amg bumpers of the period and pretty much always prefer the base. i disagree that the amg is the "clean and more refined" of the two in it's basic form, but to each their own. once you add the accent pieces it's not really a fair comparison since one remains original and the other has pieces added on, so obviously the single piece will be cleaner than multiple pieces, but as far as integrated modification no one does it better than brabus; details true to original form.

i think you'd want to buy projector fogs to do a one off set up. most, if not all, headlight projectors aren't sealed. check these out:
at $45/pair the value is hard to beat (hit me up if you're interested). something more high end would be hella sealed projector fogs.

Honestly... those brackets right there looks like it can be custom made cheap. You see the back piece of it looks like a flat square metal bracket with a hole and then drill your mount holes. As for the 2 tubular sleeve looking parts it looks like you can weld 2 tubes onto the flat mounts and it would look like that bracket. Just saying.
Just an example picture of making the back plate.
I like it but at some point it becomes to trendy
Out here we have civics, altimas, and everything else rockin those euro LED bars
Dope! but not so much when you see it on everything and when cats are jus throwing them on w/ no since of style or taste
Reminds me of the neon light fazes
The LED bars on some 430s and GSs I see in Japan are dope but they incorporated much better
X1000 :pat: Same reason why I didn't do the LED strip, eventhough I know I would have executed it well...
anything can look good when executed properly. pretty much the same as every other aesthetic mod; the overall look determines success, not the individual detail. led drls look good in a certain type of bumper on a car with a certain look and certain lines. it's not for everything. that 3gs looks lame to me.

not feeling the 3gs..then again, i dont like that L shaped LED on the benz either. id rather go with the porsche drl ones..but yea its definately becoming trendy but again, anything can look good when executed properly..if youre familiar with the job design bumper, there is a verticle line that seperates an opening and i was going to delete that and put LED instead, but in the end i knew it would clash with my foglights. this post is all over the place, but i think that one liberty 3gs that moved to hawaii and wrapped his car matte white uses the same e class led fogs

honestly LED's are starting to get overrated. People need to start stepping outside of the box and thinking up something new. I guess projector fogs are the way to go, which i'm planning on doing over the summer, its just that i don't know anything about electrics... LOL

Here's mine. They are OEM fogs from an SUV in Japan that is very similar to the Fabulous fog kit. They match my headlights.

They are from the Toyota Land Cruiser. They have a similar shape to the Fabulous fogs which were originally molded around the kit. I took a chance on buying these form Japan, sight-unseen, and I think the outcome was awesome. The housing is a clay type material that is sandable so I took a little bit off of each and they fit pretty well.

man i saw some on ebay, but those looked a bit oversized for the hole. I know a guy who have them locally and he tried to do the retro but the bezel they came with were way to big once he had it installed. But thanks!
