Another Previa owner (from Canada)

Greetings from Toronto, Canada.

Stumbled upon this site while searching for some parts for my Aug' 93 build Previa LE 4WD/alltrac (TCR20), which has been in my family since new, and I have been driving it since I got my license in 98'. Was using it as a work vehicle on construction sites (so I went off road in it quite often back then). Van currently has 170,000 km. Interior is in good shape, but car is starting to develop rust spots around the rear wheel arches and under the rear tailgate window. (I don't drive it in rain or winter now, I have a daily driver now and the van is a garage queen).

Thinking of overhauling the van by reparing the rust spots, realigning the passenger side door (it was not fixed properly when it was in an accident a long time ago), and doing some work on several places to fix dents, chips...etc. Since I'll be repainting it, it's a good opportunity for me to do some modding as well.

This site is giving me a lot of ideas and I may go aftermarket for some parts now instead of just getting OEM parts to "restore" it.

What I am now planning to do:

- Estima lights front and rear
- New grill and underside panel
- New wheels (17s to 19s, still not sure)
- Coilovers (Which one is better? Cusco or Tanabe?)
- New stereo (anyone know which 2-din touchscreen sits flush on the dash?)
- New alarm/remote start
- Body kit? (looking for something clean)
- Cusco lateral rod
- BBK? (does this exist?) - car doesnt look right if it has big rims with smallish brake calipers and discs.

Here is a quick and dirty photo of my van. It was being towed to a dealer for inspection two years ago because something wasn't right when I was driving it (car did not want to upshift and speedo was going crazy, has not happened since then.)

Hope to learn more from you guys on how to do the wiring for the lights when I do end up getting them.

Welcome to VSC! You came to the right place. We can help you here find previa parts no problem. Just let me know.

What I am now planning to do:

- Estima lights front and rear no problem
- New grill and underside panel no problem
- New wheels (17s to 19s, still not sure) you need to decide on what style you like.
- Coilovers (Which one is better? Cusco or Tanabe?) i prefer cusco but thats me
- New stereo (anyone know which 2-din touchscreen sits flush on the dash?)
- New alarm/remote start
- Body kit? (looking for something clean) theres alot out there just make sure what you're getting is the real deal or if its a knockoff then know its one.
- Cusco lateral rod
- BBK? (does this exist?) - car doesnt look right if it has big rims with smallish brake calipers and discs. if you're willing to spend the money then yes. but its a little overkill on this van unless you're doing shows =)

Thanks! I had bbk on my daily driver and it makes a huge difference on day to day driving imo... then again, I had plans for some mods on this van for a long time.

Probably will tackle the body work first...

Are there anyone who had made retrofit kids for headlight and tail light with OEM connectors?

About body kits, I know there is an issue with the kit being RHD and the sliding door portion needs to be modded. Is there an easy way to get that worked out/fixed?

Looking at the Garson LX/DX kit (not sure what the difference is between the two).

Thanks!

A '93 Previa was my first car as a 17 year old. Best first vehicle ever!

Thanks!

I think I have seen your car before at a BMW meet. (I also have a BMW that is now a daily driver)
