UCF21 sound system.. Question.

Hey guys i'm still new to my car and this website and the whole vip game, I just have a quick question regarding my 98 ls400 (ufc21 i believe?), I want to do my audio system but i have the factory navi and all my climate controller are on the navi, I was wondering what can i do to by pass this or even just get a new hu. I did run into  the beat sonic by bypass but not sure if this will work. Has anyone try this? Please help me out. Thanks.

you'll probably have to switch to the nonnavi climate control in order to run a new HU so blkvip's offer isnt a bad one... as much as i love an oem look to a system, no point in running gangsta components and then limiting it by the factory head... jusayin.

but if you want to run a factory unit, you could probably use that unit, but me personally i'd run a cleansweep, but thats just me.

I say ditch the factory navi for a non navi climate control and get a double din radio kit. The factory navi is garbage and you can't update the maps anymore. It's so limited. It's too old and outdated. The connectors for the climate control are the same. It's plug and play. And it's been done before. But you have to figure out the wires for the stereo because those connectors are different, but that should be a no brainer if you know how to wire up an aftermarket stereo. Probably gonna spend the same amount, if not less, with the the non navi climate control and radio kit vs. beat-sonic kit. Minus the stereo of course. Besides...what stereo are you gonna run if you do the beat-sonic kit? Most likely a single din. Plus your factory stereo? Two stereos? And i'm guessing the aftermarket would be in the glove box. Not cool. And you gotta reach over to change a cd. Double din is the way to go, especially on your VIP ride.

Damn man, I guess i gotta do that then. I just like how they a/c and shit was all done in the screen of the dash.. But oh well.

I hear you...I like that feature too, but by eliminating one feature your gonna gain many more. Like bluetooth, dvd, better navigation, back up camera, usb connectivity, auxillary input, satellite radio, and the ability to enhance sound quality...just to name a few. I mean having multiple options just outweighs what that factory unit offers. That's just the way I see it. 
 
Don't get me wrong. you can do whatever you want. This is just what I would do. Hope this was helpful. Good luck.

you CAN get better sound and keep the factory stereo and navi. 
 
in fact you CAN get better sound than most aftermarket decks will provide, while using your factory deck, if you know where to shop and who to talk to! 
 
where in California are you? and what exactly do you want the finished product to give you? also, budget?

Why are you still considering the OEM head unit? ITS A WASTE OF TIME.

No well i just want CC and the stock hu for now till i have the money to buy a aftermarket navi. I need music in my life! hahaha.

Ya but that's the point. For the $100 you'll spend on a stock radio you might as well get a single din with bluetooth, ipod, etc..
