Mercedes S500L w140 Pics/project

Hi, newbie here and new to the VIP scene.

Post some pics of my car how it looks like now, and this will probably be an project thread later on. 

The car is an -93 s500L with black interior anthracite grey
the car hase gone 250000 Km and are in very good condition except the paint.

Plans for the car: 

Exterior:

Lowered ( springs will be cutted, Airride later)
Paint all the bumpers etc in the same colour
paint the reverse light ramp sae colour as car
avantgarde grille
Us spec front indicators
Dark tint all the way up front
modded rear lights
20" rims (same as the white jag has on here)

Interior:

Curtains

Audio:

This will be massive, more about this later on.

Engine etc: 

Just regular service.
a 2x3" exhaust with 1 silencer and racecats will be custom built by myself.

Economy is not at the best state right now so updates coming slowly.

someone knows why i cant look at juicedw140´s picture in his thread, i dont have authority to that it says :pat:

have found the front bumper i like also, the junction produce.. but i only want the front bumper, the rest i like OEM, but that maybe looks stupid? since i dont know how far down the junction bumper goes, someone maybe knows?

it will look very silly without sides and back.
you probably cant view threads because you are still in training mode.

Started on an small mod that i think looks great. 

rear lights, if you mount an "rear light" bulb in the brake light area so all 3 sections at the bottom glows with only rear light the car looks wider and more modern IMHO. so i started do that now. 


since the w140 has these weird light holders i couldnt use a 2 pole lamp there, so i bought these small ones and drilled a hole for the lampholder.

Drill a hole for the lightbulb

Mount it back and make some cables.

hmm, what´s the name.. in sweden we call it "hatshelf" between trunk and coupé... Dual layers

rear fenders got dual layers where i could put it without unscrewing everything

Rear door, got 10(!) sheets, 3-4 layers in the outer skin and 2-3 in the inner skin

This is pretty much what i´ve done since i bought the car, i have done an service also with:

Oil + filter
Fuel filter
spark plugs
airfilters.

A bad pic is coming, will try to get a better one tomorrow.

In my opinion, it looks much better and the car looks wider. also it looks nice when you see the rear light from the side.

I like what you did with the tail lights!  It does change the look nicely.

The subwoofer is an B2 audio RS 12" handles alot of power :D
Im not so good to explain how the box works in English, but i will have Aeroports from the box up in the "Hat-shelf".

straight to work, and good work too! Like the light bulb application. I will not look at one the same again and say: you know what that brake light needs haha

It's july and we want updates. Later.

Have been unemployed for some time now so cash have been to other stuff, now im working again and looking forward to the winter, 

plans for the winter are: 

Mod front bumper with fog lights
Re-paint, not  sure on colour yet
order air-ride from streetbeats
and some 20-22" rims

i´ll update as soon i do something, promise!

Nice Job there on the S500 .I can see that you are an enthusiast about this model car so how come i have never seen you on [U]Benzworld.org[/U] yet ? You find all the W140 owners there that will absolutely adore the work you did there me including ,this site looks ok too i have to pass the message over to them  .

Does anyone have som good rim- sizes and ET measurements? im looking to buy atleast 20", though i want an special rim but they only come in 19", and i think that will be too small?

i just bought a set of 20x9 and 20x10.5 with a 44et on all 4 and fit great...Lipps wheel supply on face book

I guess it all depends on whether or not you plan on doing any sort of fender work. If no, then 20x9.5 +35 is about as big as your gonna get without doing any fender work whatsoever.

With a fender roll, you can get 20x9.5 +15 on fronts and 20x10.5 +15 on rear.

I plan on doing some fender work and just ordered 20x10 +15 fronts, and 20x11 +2 on the rear for my 500SEL.

That should give you a good ball park of what your up against and what your options are. Dennis (VIP-UCF) really helped me a lot with my fitment. If you have any questions about the W140 chassis and fitment, he's the man to speak with.
