Does anyone know what kind of finish is on the lip of the wheel? It doesn't look like the chrome half of a 3 piece wheel.
It looks like a two piece wheel with machined finish and clear coated. For a set where the clear coating is flaking, what would need to be done to bring the wheels back to new condition?

clear coat on a Machined finish.....
not to make it sound simple...its not. the lip is VERY soft on the surface and will scratch easy if you cut too deep into the clear.
You need to wet-sand and re-clear, VERY carefully.

Nice wheels Ian, they yours?
I also have a set of wheels with a bit of clearcoat cracking, on the Work DH's i have.
But mine isn't crackin on the lip, but on the spokes
