UCF2x Trunk Question

Are the 95-97 trunks interchangeable with 98-00? Basically, can I grab a cheap 95-97 lid slap it on my 99 and be able to run the generic red/clear tails off Ebay/Yahoo.jp? I'm just looking for a cheaper method than shelling out a grand for authentic JP ones...

As I understand it, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the only difference between the 95-97 tails and the 98-00 tails are that the earlier ones are physically wider on the inside lights only. Are the outer ones the same dimensions?

I've never compared the two side by side in person.

the inner of the 98-00 tails are longer in length...the outside i think are the same?...dont quote me on that...the only tails i know for the 98-00 are the Junction ones....i have the 95-97 clear/red ones

oh ok, so 98+ are the longer ones then... will 95-97 trunk and red/clear lights be direct swap to 98-00 then?

im not sure...never measured it to see if they would fit? sorry bro!

The outer pieces are not the same dimensions, they're close, but not exactly the same...if I remember correctly, it's the inner part of the housing that meets with the trunk that's different.

The 95-97 lenses have a multipoint refractor which have an older look while the 98-00 ones are more of a clear jeweled look.

Will they fit 98-00 is the only thing in question. Got any info on that?

I have one i bought from ebay and i didn;t realise until i went to fit the bulb harness which did not fit but it does get close.
