Wheel repair / rebarrel wider bigger lip

So I know there is not a lot of information on wheel re-barreling to make it wider or bigger lip. I would like to start a thread of peoples experience with different shops. Also if they can give us before and after pics of the wheel and the company they used. Thanks

Seems like re-barreling to a higher width is the new trend...who does this? Is it safe?

ive spent years and years figuring this out, let me tell you some commong knowledge you're going to encounter, and what the truth is.

kodiak of canada CAN make wheel barrels, BUT you have to pay for tooling. realistically you're looking at 300 bucks an OUTER LIP for a 15" wheel 3" lip. if they have the tooling setup already.
if not, you need to pay for the setup and readjust the price, so it gets pricey. and this is only if the measurements of your lips is something they can produce. plus you have to pay for freight from canada to here and tariff/taxes if any.

rotiform sells their OWN lips. i spoke with 2 people there and they said they can sell you lips that they have tooling for only. i dont know why so many people say they can do anything, as I talked to them, that wasn't the case.

memoryfab and infinit wheels both claim they can do this service, but recently i had wheels and money to throw at them and they both couldn't do it.

memoryfab(i qoute) "if the wheels are what you say they are, we know exactly what they are, how they are, because we've done work on them before" so it's for sure thing(right?) WRONG.
they told me, you tell me your dream setup and we can do it.. um, well..
when i got the funds and wheels together to send them. they then ask if i could just send one first so they could make sure, this and that. instead of that, i got my wheel measured out completely at the machineshop. sent them the specs, and they said they couldn't do it.

infinit wheels was a similar experience, but i don't want to get into it,

pretty much all the common routes of rebarrelling and widening fell short right away.

a lot of wheel places end up swapping faces/lips from other sets they have. that's swapping faces, not exactly widening a wheel. i'm just letting you know what i've found.

and these are examples of what i ended having to do on my own after endless searches from people making stuff up about companies they have no idea about

i might be wrong, i talked to RALPH and he told me he could find barrels and switch faces, but cutting and welding the actual lip isn't something he offers.

^ memory fab is the only place that SAYS they can provide that service, but after your testimonial, i guess even that route is a dead end.

Well, they SAID they could do it, when the money and rims were ready to be shipped to their facility, they then asked if we could just send one rim first, just to "make sure".

but keep in mind, this is after they claimed they've worked on rims EXACTLY the same as these before. so i had a machine shop measure everything out. sent the specs over.. and their answer was no, no no. *sigh*

the obvious routes you could take or people suggest you take are just speculations. most people haven't widened their wheels. swapping out the face from one set to another is

one method of widening the wheels(that's what I did on my lexus). but that's TOTALLY different than finding someone who has the talent to weld aluminum, and weld it well so the wheels look legit.
chopping of wheel lips and welding new ones one isn't exactly cheap, easy to do, or easy to find someone that's willing to do it for you.

my miata's wheels are widened in that manner. after years and years of people leading us in circles, i finally had to take action and find a way/place that could do it.

google weldcraftwheels. They work on 1pc and 2pc wheel. Iwas going to widen my t1s and got a rough quote for outter widen 2.5 inches making the lip 8 and that was around 300 each wheel amd that was for 20s.
