LED Puddle Install - What do you think?

I am thinking of installing LED Puddles in my girls LS430...

I found a ripping ripping ripping deal here so will grab these before they run out - 5 lights per side (10pce kit) and should be fine to do install myself

http://cgi.ebay.com/2011-v-2-Black-Series-10pce-LED-Puddle-Kit-1-DAY-SALE-/110684889035?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19c5555fcb

I've seen a few cars on here with the puddles and they look so rad.

anyone got any pics to showoff of their car with puddles?

** Black Series BEATS the Chrome kits and eliminates HALO's around puddles that chrome kits have **

Looks like they blacked out the LEDs as well, so I'm sure it'll eliminate halos as well as the light output of the LEDs themselves.

Let me know how those work out for you.

ahha they are White LED's. with an all black case they just appear black as LED's are transparent.

my friend put me onto this seller as he just put them in his e500 mercedes and they look awesome from the pics i saw our friend take

i used to have a chrome outer ring on an old kit i had years ago and it suffered from that halo effect so i was impressed when i saw these

Those don't look half bad for $50 wonder what the quality is like.

I've been afraid to install these since the G is static. They'll definitely be going on the Q though.

Looks good, that is a good thing they blacked out the rings. This will help prevent the halo effect.

Nice. I hope you get that resolved. I just picked up a set from a buddy of mines that sells puddles and LEDS, but they are chromed rings.

I don't think you'll get the halo rings. They happen from the reflection from the chrome. Shouldn't see it if you have a black set. And I hope you get your 2 broken ones resolved. Did you test them yourself before installing them?

Yeah, I tested them with a 9V battery. There are 4 LEDs per unit, and the first group had one fully non-functional and one had 2/4 LEDs working. He sent me 2 more and only one worked and the other was DOA.

He told me that since the car is normally 12v that the 9v could be causing it to run low and not function lol. I was like, "Come on man." Anyway, I should be having another one sent out. He told me he was doing me a favor by not requiring me to send them back prior to getting replacement ones sent out

Would I just wire them up to the light on the door panel or is there some were better suited?

Well I am putting them in my First Gen xB abd they don't come with door panel lights:sad:. I will either need to wire them as a group to the dome light, or wire independent replays for each set, activated by the individual door switches. At least we have those lol...

I have put this on the back burner as I am redoing my air ride currently.

I don't have any updates yet. I have been working on getting my kit + stance down. Tire guy is lagging. Anyway, once I find a round hole saw big enough it should take a day or so to get them wired up.

I have decided to run mine in the kit and just run a single light in the individual doors. I couldn't get the look for which I was striving 100%, so I opted out. I also didn't want to deal with a bunch of holes down the road, one should be anough. My skirts are in paint so I am just going to drop them by the paint guy instead.
