G35 coupe questions

Hello everyone. I'm a new member to these boards. I've always been a very big fan of the VIP/Auto Fashion movement. I never really owned a car that I could build in a "VIP-type" fashion. I currently own a G35 coupe and really want to know what specs of wheels I can get on the car. I want a really agressive look and am currently looking at buying the AEM Shallen LX, Work Euroline VD, in 19 inch staggered. What is the lowest offset that I can run? This may be a vague request but please reply and ask for more information if needed.

Thanks,

Mike

yeah, that is kinda vague. i mean, how far are you willing to go? do you plan on rolling your fender lips, or even flaring? do you want max negative camber? how low do you want to go? do you have adjustable suspension arms? etc etc.

I am going to buy adjustable suspension arms, along with front and rear camber adjusters. Is there anything else I should look at buying? I am also changing my suspension to the TEIN CS coilovers. For shows I plan to adjust the camber to an extreme, but for every day driving I'll put it back to a more normal/upright stance.

What are some recommendations in suspension setup that I should get? Coilovers? Adjustable camber arms? Anything else?

PS-I thought about going with bags on my car but I need all the trunk room that I can get.

you cant really have good wheel fitment if you adjust the camber at different times. if you have flush wheels with wimpy camber and then dump the camber for a show it will just look ugly and sunk. id say at least commit to rolling your fenders and running about 2-3 degrees of camber at all times, and then buy a set of wheels to fit around those specs. would be a good compromise of daily driver and nice looking car.

chmercer thanks for the great advice.

any suggestions on what to look for when buying suspension parts? what parts could you (or anyone) suggest for close-to-perfect every day driving (and i akready know that there are negative effects to modifying anything on the car, but hey, at least i can try to have a phatty suspension setup.)

for conservative but flush fittment you'll want something like

19x10 +15 front
19x11 +10 rear

You'll want to dump the car and run -2 deg camber all around (front is not adjustable unless you buy something like Cusco upper arms for $350).

For the rear, you want to go "true coilover" in the rear and pick up the Battleversion camber and toe links.

The above setup will work with minor fender rolling to the rear and 245/35/19 fronts and up to 275/35/19 rear.

There's a used set of Fabulous Expands for sale in very similar sizing (black center) 19x10 +0 and 19x11 +0 which will fit with -2.5 front camber and 235 tires and -3.5 rear camber and 245 tires. They will also require a slight pull in the rear or for the fender to be shaved at the least.

the above set up sounds pretty drastic for a G35..........+0 will not fit...ive tried........and 19x10 +15 up front is impossible without 3 degrees of camber...the wheel wells are deep but not that deep.....SPC makes the best camber kit for the front and rear of the G35, cusco is not that adjustable at all for the G

did you have to modify anything as far as your fenders are conderned? 19x9.5 and 19x11 would be a perfect setup.

Your car looks very good! But I'm sorry your fittment is not even slightly "aggressive"... You can fit much bigger under there. I have G35 and Z33. As someone else above corrected you, the 19x10 +15 front will actually sit in a few mm more then yours and the benefit of the 10 up front is that the tire will have more stretch, and look better. Your rear ONLY has -2 degree and there is still plenty of room to the fender... for a nice "VIP Style" fittment you will need at least a 10mm spacer with a more stretched tire to make those fit "to my liking :)"

Don't take this the wrong way, I LOVE your car! :p I'm just trying to give the OP the best information according to the test fits I've done. I've fitted OVER 80 sets of wheels on my G35, many of them more aggressive then what we're discussing here.

And DO NOT waste you money on the SPC front camber crap, those are the ugliest POS you can buy and will break, rattle, squeek and plain suck. The Cusco has more then enough adjustment to go -4 deg front, it just doesn't correct up to 0 deg. front like some people who aren't into looks or performance want. Not sure why you would ever need that though  :p

wow, this thread is starting to become a really informative thread. thanks for all the replies. i was originally thinking of going with the cusco ones, since i heard about the spc ones having issues with cracking or something.

u can also check the g35driver.com forum and my350z.com forum to read all fitment adjusting issues of the cusco camber arms...I never said my car was Vip and dont advertise it as VIP. I know I can go more aggresive, but as far as G35's go....most people on the forums have not even gone this low of an offset, I'm not into replacing $300+ tires all the time, If I had a 4 door GS or something, then yes I would definately go full on VIP, but as for my G since I drive 100+ miles a day....this wheel fitment is "to my liking". Just curious after all those wheel sets what wheels you chose and do you have any pics.....I havn't had any problems with my Spc camber kit front or back, no sqeaking ect.....the fronts havn't even been out that long and I'm curious to who you heard that from.

The G35C is a great car to put wheels on!

The biggest I have done is 19x10.5 front (Falken FK-452 245/35-19) and 19x12.0 rear (285/35-19 Falken FK-452) with the front fenders rolled & pulled and the rears cut. This is on Neil Tjin's car- you can't miss it, it's red with black HREs that have GREEN outers ;)
