Shonn's 99 Q45t project

Hey everyone. Well about 4 months ago I sold my LS400 because of life stuff. (blah) But ended up picking up a 99 Q45t around the same time. :) I've always wanted to build a Q but could never find the right one. Well I finally found a decent one. So here's some pics of the progress.

Not that big of a change, but it's what I could do in 4 months time. :) I recently installed a front table and rear jag tables. The interior has your usual jp and garson stuff. Nothin big. lol. Near future plans are: body kit, paint, semi-full D.A.D interior, another set of wheels(more aggresive) and random other things. Thanks for looking.

Very nice man... what are the wheels & specs? LM9s? They look dope... I'd paint them gold & keep them... want agressive? Rock spacers, lol... spend that money on other thngs... GL with it man.

I have a real bad feeling you're running fake LMs with BBS center caps.

Please tell me I'm wrong by posting a better photo of the wheel faces....

I am running varrstoens with blank centercaps. :) im not the one to fake the funk. Hence the varrstoen sticker on the back window that is not pictured. Although i have seen others put bbs centercaps on them. I just shake my head in disgust. And the specs are mild 19x9.5 +12 19x10.5 +12 i got hooked up through varrstoen with a price i couldnt refuse. :) And i am not a fan of rocking spacers. Just my preference.

Oh cool... I dont like spacers much either but if they'd save me a couple of grands, my opinion can change drastically, lol...

The centercaps are just a blank off-red circle. Lol. Nothin fancy. And yes the lips are stepped. but varrstoen makes the best "LM style" wheel in my opinion. Believe me, if i could afford the real bbs wheels then i woulda got em. :)

Keep'n it clean for the grown folk. I really l like how classy your car looks. More importantly, thank you for not fake'n the funk with some BBS caps on your wheels. Ain't no shame in Varrs either man.

i like it! i wish i could find bbs, afford bbs, then rebarrel it to the specs i want haha. but i am plus 1 with the paint of the cap to match.

Thanks for the compliment. I kinda wanted to get away from the norm of full-faced wheels. Don't get me wrong, I love the full faced look and will probably get a set later. But as for now, i'm gonna rock meshies. :) As for tire sizes, the fronts are 235/35/19 and rears are 245/35/19

I'm on BC racing coilovers. I got a little help from them. :) Pretty good coilovers. Only draw back on these is that the fronts are just about maxed. So I can't go any lower in the front. :( But it's ok. Once I get my body kit. It should be just the right height.

Same lip design theyre just one piece construction versus the lm bbs two piece

Thanks. Unfortunetly the red centercaps are a weird light red, kinda pink color. lol. But in photos they come out red. Eh, oh well. :D

Saw the car in person today. Looks awesome!!! My buddy was all over it. He really wants a y33.  But after seeing it yeah I revert by sayin keep the red caps they look great. Inside looked nice too.  I looked for ya but you weren't around lol

Lol... that's crazy... I just recently saw the linea corse reps of T1Ss they look identical as well.

There's a company called stance that is making wheels (not stance as in suspension)

And they have a dead rip off of the Work SC5 and I'm pretty sure that comes stepped as well. Replica steps lol

I love this car I almost got those wheels for my ucf20 but there was some retarded backorder on them so i found some mae's for the same price ...why didnt you go with the 0 offsets???

Soooo to dig up my old build thread. Nothin much has changed on the car besides adding different color hid head and fog lights. And ordering new (used) wheels. lol. Specs are 19x11 +13,  19x12+7  They're an old school wheel, (Wald Streifen S13) is the model. I'll post pics when I get em. :D

Well here's the wheels that i'm getting in a couple weeks. Some of you may have seen them some where. lol. I went with this style because it's simple and has kind of a sporty look to them but still maintaining the luxury feel as well. Plus no one else is rockin em. :) Having the latest and greatest would be nice, but I like to rock the old school. Hell you're talkin to someone that still pops and locks. lol.

The centers have some chrome peeling. So I was thinking of redoing the centers. Either powder coat or polished. What do you guys think?

I'm glad someone picked those up they were tempting the shit out of me.

One think I've learned is.... don't fuck with chrome. Stripping chrome sucks really bad!

get them professionaly stripped and then get em done in that chrome bronze color like the powered by max coils :D haha

I got tires on em today. :) And test fitted them. To my surprise I will only have to roll the fenders and do a slight pull maybe on the rears. I will definitely get pics up tomorrow after I work on the fenders. Thanks 33. Means a lot to hear that from someone with a car that is such a big inspiration.

yeah, my bersaglios are starting to have the "bubbles" on the sides of the spokes...but the face itself is flawless. i'll also be getting them stripped and paint matched when i'm ready for my next set of tires. cant wait for pix tho!!

Put the wheels on already!

Wellllll, I attempted to put the wheels on yesterday. And I got them all on BUT there were a few minor issues. The rears I rolled by hand without a fender roller (heat gun and hammer) lol. I pretty much have the rears done and got them to fit. The front fenders I rolled as well. And then put the wheels on, but then found out that 11" wide with a +13 offset does NOT fit. The inside of the wheel was hitting the coil over. So long story short I need at least a 5mm spacer to make it work. So i'm looking for a pair right now.

Autozone has some or any automotive store
Tireshops might also have some

Yea, I found some so i'll be picking em up in a lil bit. I'll post pics after i'm done. :)

yeah, i had to run atleast a 7mm spacer up front to keep my 20x10 +27 off the coilovers lol

I tell people all the time. What's needed on a y33 + 10 or less on anything 10.5 or less. I've learned the hard way.

Yea the bc coil overs i have won't go any further in the front, unless I take one of the collars off. And the rear camber will be dialed in the end of the week. :) So yea it's still in the works and have a long way to go until i'm done with it. But it's a fun journey none the less. lol
