Tinting Chrome accents
Not sure if you guys have thought about this, but it adds a nice touch. I know the F50 guys like to remove the tint on the chrome haha. Here is some we did:
and after
Just adding a bit can make it black chrome, smoked chrome, or just a light hint to take down the glare.
Depending on the cars color, and your overall out look you may want to give this a shot. I know as far as my build; color has a lot to do with how much chrome there will be on the car. But now since we have done this, maybe the chrome is to much, maybe i should just tint it a bit
Got the idea from blue nissan emblems from the Leaf. you can go extreme blue chrome or even a super light blue tint.
You can have your paint supplier make up tints in clear so all you have to do is add hardner and reducer and away you go :giggity:

Been thinking about doing this with my UCF30 but its silver and I am not sure how it would look. I want to do the grille insert, the window trim etc.

What did you use to tint? I used some of this stuff from dupoint

works great on chrome looking plastic, havent tried it on metal yet though.

When I did mine, I just used smoked vinyl...didnt have to take anything off or anything. just lay, and cut to shape...

I would probably use vinyl to cover mine, but the emblems are very simple on Scions. I think with intricate lettering, a liquid would be better to catch all of the details.
