FS: Y34 custom front coils / cut rear Tein's

Here is most of the old bits off my M to make your front into a custom coilover and a set of cut rear Tein's which could still be cut more with no problem as they had plenty of tension in the bucket. Amazingly, the rear OEM shocks are still good. When I got the car 1 year ago with 74k, I was pretty sure they'd been replaced cause the car rode so good, even after putting Tein's on and cutting them. This just re-enforces the belief they must have been pretty new. The Bilstein HD struts that were in the front are still in great shape too. There had been some question how they'd hold up with 14k springs, but I can report, they're just as hard to push down as when new 10 months ago.

The sleeves are not welded on, they slip over. You have to cut off the stock spring perch and then weld a ring where you want the bottom of the sleeve to sit, then slip the sleeve over the stock tube.

Wanna just buy my shit? LOL

I was just gonna bump this thread today. NEW PRICE $500 shipped for everything you see!!

nah, once they cut the stock tube down, the Bilstein insert is held in place with a bolt at the very bottom instead of the big nut at the top like OE. Then they welded a ring to keep the threaded sleeve from sliding down.

I was wondering, could you measure the inserts? how long is the body of it, wondering if i could keep my stock swaybar tab.

No problem, also would you happen to know if the insert will still fit in the tube without cutting off the top threaded part?

Thanks again

I went to measure the struts last night and forgot before I even got there lol. I'll measure them today, I promise!

However, they're pretty much sold as well as the threaded sleeves.

@ Lixam: I'm not sure how much drop, do you mean the whole thing? I could have really slammed the front to the ground probably, but the rear were just cut springs which I'm probably going to throw out.

LOL, not shit but definitely on the soft/bouncy side.

Anonymous User:
Here's the measurements of the Bilstein HD, Mitsubish 3000GT inserts: 18.5" from the bottom to the top of the "fat tube" or 19" from bottom to top of the "taper", overall length is 20.5". We cut the strut tube to fit the threaded collar, so I don't know if it would work with the tube un-cut. We also drilled a hole in the bottom for the bolt on the Bilstein HD.
