Y33 coilovers (Megan or BC)

Looking for some feedback from both owners now that they are starting to show up on peoples cars.

I've worked with both Megan coils and BCs in the past so I know of their quality...

Which go lower?
Ride quality?
Ease of install/adjustment

Anything else... If you have them do you wish you went with the other?

I guess if anyone has the new PBM coils chime in as well, but I don't know of anyone running those yet.

What about the PBM has anyone got those on their car yet?

i would never buy/run megan personally. i don't even like installing them when customers bring them in. 
 
build quality: the megans tolerances seem to be much looser which makes them more difficult to adjust. with a well built and clean coilover you can usually adjust them without the wrench, with megan i end up using the spanners every time.
 
ride quality: bc hands down every time, even with upped spring rates. their matching seems to be way better. to be honest, i've dialed in bc more than megan but out of the box vs. out of the box bc still wins.
 
height: bc tends to go lower, and if that's not low enough you can always custom order (not all aps available for "extreme drop").
 
imo, megan is a cheap part at a cheap price. bc is a quality part at a great value. they are comparable (not necesarrily equal) in performance/features/quality to more expensive japanese made coilovers. i was never big on taiwan made coilovers until bc but they made a believer out of me. before someone with megans gets butthurt and says i'm just trying to push the product i sell; i sell them because they are good, not the other way around.

I just installed my megan coilovers on my Y33 and I love them...they ride real good

Thanks OG, first hand experience is what I wanted to hear about them.

BC are still top of my list.

I really wish Stance or HSD made coil for the Y33.

A buddy of mine has it on his y33. Rides nice and goes really low

The PBM coilovers interst me, and don't they have the same price ($1000) as the BC? I just dont know anyone with PBM, and they don't show an application for the LS400.

If I buy new, I'm going BC over Megan.

i personally run the megans and mine is completely dumped all the way down need to update my pics but they ride real nice

different chasis, but ive ridden on both megan and bc.  i have no complaints about megan, they are great for the price point.. but bc is better.  better build quality, better ride quality.  my current spring rate is 20/18 and its more comfortable then my megans out the box

true thats the only things i would change are the spring rates...im looking at getting into a set of swifts to replace those springs...20/18? arent those really stiff?

Did you revalve for the heavy spring rates?

Are the PBMs $1000? Like I said I still haven't seen any but they interested me quite a bit.

I've heard terrible stories about BCs in the winter with leak issues, megans probably share the same issue though....

Good thing we don't have winter in Houston... 
I am stuck between BC and Max. Hoping to buy/install within the next month. Afterwards I will contribute feedback to this thread

yes, BC valves specifically for your specified spring rate...i cant speak on the winter issue as i dont experience harsh winters in cali, but theyve been making shocks and shit for a very long time.

They were $1250 picked up, only review I can do on them as of now is I love looking at them haha there be installed in a weeks time though.

It was my tire sponsor (who sells BC) that told me to avoid them for winter. Which scares me away from them. Maybe I will just go back to original plan and bag it over OEM struts.

lemme know if you need help with the install i wanna see myself personally if theres a difference between them PBM and Megans

Has anyone on here ran the Ksport coilovers on there y33?
 I've been looking around and havent really heard anything about them on here but from my understanding they are suppose to be a pretty good quality setup and from 900-1200 dollar price range they are definitely affordable but I don't want to buy them now just to be unsatisfied with the ride quality...
If anyone can chyme in on that I would greatly appreciate it.

that's kind of a guideline for all coilovers. a lot of northern (non-vip) guys take off there suspension in the winter.

I have never had that problem with any of my previous Honda builds but I mostly ran Tein suspension. Thank God for AZ!! HAHA. It doesn't get that cooooold here, lol.

yeah, i've never had an issue either but i have heard the recommendation/warning more than a couple times (including japanese manufacturers).

Well I've run coils in the winter with no problems. Just not BCs. But I never had issues with leaking just gotta keep the collars clean when the salt gets heavy.

Of course companies like KW who use SS bodies would be optimal for winter driving....
