air bag compressors

just installed uas in my m35 and the compressors are pretty irritating.
i mounted to a piece of particle board and not directly to the car
any ideas or tips to help keep the noise down?

I had 2 380 VIAIR compressors in the spare tyre place. First I put dampening material in the trunk. then put a wood deck on the bottom with some soft dempening material so that wood wouldnt touch the car body, then put 2 inch thick rubber under the compressors and screwed it to the wood deck. No vibration in the car, barely hear them work.

That is a great question cuz the sound of my compressor is also bothering me (but my car doesnt have its backseat on) so it's pretty loud at the moment & I was thinking that once I put the back seat on and the noise was still too loud, to install some of that dynamat or something along those lines... I dont want the sound to b completely gone though cuz I want to be able to tell the compressor is working correctly, I just want to muffle it a little bit...

if it's in your spear wheel well can try sound dampening ur trunk a bit maybe even ur back seat, I gotta do the same

putting the back seat in will make a big difference.
 
decoupling the compressor from the sheet metal (not mounting directly to it) will reduce noise. deadening mat will reduce resonance in the panels but will not block sound, for that you need accoustical barrier.
