Air suspension is just a more expensive option when compared to coilovers. The main advantage to air suspension is the instant adjustability of ride height. Definitely a very convenient option. As for coilovers you will just be riding low all the time so dealing with speedbumps/driveways etc. is a little bit more of a hassle. You can't go wrong either way. Coilovers are easier to maintain when compared to air suspension in my opinion its kind of a set it and forget it thing haha. One last thing, if for some reason your air suspension goes out then you probably wont be able to go anywhere because your car would be laid out haha. These are just my thoughts.

why not bag on coil?? buy coils n build up ur air till you can install (bags, valves ect). like ^he said coils are set n forget but go digi and you can do the same. ex. accuair does 3 ride preset heights plus all down.

Your one friend is right to some point; the conventional suspension choice in former times was coilovers. However, trends are predisposed to change - as they grow substitute values are acquired. Today it is a preference, not what’s more pure.

Oh shyt, this is turning into a legitimate argument!!! Lmao...
So I was on coilovers just a couple of days ago & now I'm on bags... so I was more vip then than I am now?!?!?! I'm a VIP fail at the suspension station...
Lmmfao...
What OG says seems to trump all arguments... "VIP is not a suspension type".

Blanco as this style has evolved, alternative suspension choices to coilovers have been introduced. These alternatives have become common (accepted) through its progression.

I hope I didnt rustle your feathers man, that wasnt my intention at all. Please understand that though I've only been here for a short time I love VIP. Then realize that even some of the older (& well respected) cats on here cant even exactly tell you what VIP is, & some even say Europeans platforms are VIP... but if you dig around, some websites (that have to do with VIP history) state that the reason VIP even got started was to stay away from large European sedans... so how can an Euro be VIP... it could b VIP inspired (according to that theory.) I'm not knocking any Euros... some are ballin as they can be. I also understand your argument about an scene evolving, using different parts & whatnot, nonetheless, imo that has nothing to do with being VIP... the point of coilovers & airbags or even cutting springs is to lower the car drastically in order for the vehicle to look good. The means of getting there imo should b irrelevant. Some are baller, some are hood rich, but whatever works... What I'm saying is that the DROP IS VIP not whatever makes your car drop... somebody can come up with a different way to lower a suspension tomorrow & I'm sure that if it works & it's cost effective, somebody's gon rock it & it wont make anybody's car any less VIP...

To me it's whatever gets you to
roll lowest. A well planned bag-over-coil setup can be easily fine tuned to roll extremely low, and still retain enough lift to get over speed bumps etc. And of course there's the point of luxury as well, with bags there's at least a chance of maintaining some ride comfort, coz' with low coils you gotta get ~20k springs which is just a harsh ride. If built for speed & cornering it's a whole different thing, but to me "VIP" is a lot more than that

Imo, again, imo... lol... bags over coils is a waste of money. But if you hv money to blow by all means get all the whistles... I ball on a "replacement" budget son... sell coilovers get air, sell wheels then get other wheels, lol...

This is low... This is on coils & on 19s with 225/35 & 245/30 tires... my subframe was literally about 1" off the ground...
