Just picked up a '02 Black GS300

I just picked up a black 2002 GS300 on Friday. It has factory navigation, the power sunroof, and the Mark Levinson audio. The ML subwoofer is blown, so I want to replace that first. I am looking to put this GS on a set of chrome wheels. 9J/10J set up should look nice. I am also leaning toward an air ride set up. I was looking at three different air ride set-ups.. airrunner - obviously the best choice.. but sooooo much money. and ksport air & UAS.

here is the car: BORING STOCK GS.

Scoop up the UAS stuff, but run all paddle valves. It'll save you quite a bit of money.

i'll probably end up scooping the UAS, but it'll be a while. i want to get this car perfect and get a good sum of cash in savings before i buy air. i was thinking about snagging some springs to run for the next few months so keep me somewhat satisfied.. haha

haha! i really really love the LS430s, but they were too pricey for me. I know "you gotta pay to play" but if i had an LS430 it would've taken me 3 years to get suspension & wheels haha, with the GS300 it should only take about 2.5 years :P sucks having two car payments and a house..... haha

I paid off all of my debt, so I got the okay from the wife to buy GS stuff with my tax return moneys.

Hopefully going to buy these come tax return season:

  • Hopefully a used Phantom Cup Kit or Air kit.
  • new MRR HR3 Wheels, 20x8.5F 9.5R or something 19x9/19x10 used.
  • Remove the rear wing
We shall see.... fingers crossed. :dunno:

Or you can get some dope rims and coilovers instead of MRR, and add air to the coilovers later and have adjustability.

I would love some legit wheels, but it's hard to justify $3k wheels on the daily... haha it was hard enough justifying the suspension.. that took a lot of persuading.

This would be my first vehicle on air... or my 6th on coilovers.... haha

But just in case, what are some of the better options out there for coilovers? =)

I liked the idea of a cup kit because it offers all of the "pros" of coilovers, with the lift when I need it (I live in Utah, I will need it).
I don't love the idea of air... but I think air is more "VIP".

Quite the opposite. Air is US VIP

Well I lived in Japan for 5 years before moving to Utah, and I saw a lot of VIP cars there on air and a lot on coilovers too. I just never wanted air before because it seemed like a pain in the ass. I figured I'd give it a try this time, but I'm leaning more towards a cup kit... maybe coilovers?

First of all you dont need to drop 3k to get a decent brand of multipiece wheels.
VRWheels - JDM 19" wheels

I see 3 pages worth of wheels in decent sizes for under 2k. Just some food for thought

I've been trying to research it and have been failing. So how adjustable is the GS's factory suspension? as far as camber and toe go? I've been trying to research it but it seems like everyone is running aftermarket arms. I don't want to run a really aggressive set-up.. probably a 19x9/10J +~15 set-up? Would I be able to tune the factory suspension enough to tuck wheel in the rear and sit flush up front? I want to do it right. & I am planning on running air on this car.

no problem with those specs. you have to shave the rear and add a little camber
