ADDED FACTORY NAVIGATION TO MY 2006 M35X!

i have been wanting to do this for quite some time and finally got around to doing it so i figured i would do a quick write up for anyone interested...i got the parts from ebay...apparently you need to have the journey package installed in your car already...the parts you need :
the navigation dvd drive
navigation climate controls
8" navigation screen
navigation disc
gps antenna

total for the parts i scooped up from ebay was $390...so start off by taking off the lower panel under the glove box...it snaps off...wiggle up on the glove box and it pops out...take off the little rope thing that slows down the opening...that just pops off too...

behind the glove box is a big plastic panel held in by about 8-10 screws...remove that and you will be able to access the bluetooth box...there is 4 screws holding that in...remove that too...the woodgrain trim has a few screws that you remove and pop it out...

Forum image

on the drivers side of the climate controls the small woodgrain panel just pops out...there is a screw behind it that holds the climate controls in...remove the screw

Forum image

climate control unit them pops right out...revealing the lower screws for the screen.

Forum image

next part is a pain in the ass...gently pry out the vents and upper speaker grille...was getting kinda nervous because it was not cooperating...but it popped out with a lil work and crossed fingers...

Forum image

if i remember correctly there is 1 screw on top and 2 on the bottom and the screen lifts out...

reverse all the above mentioned instructions and add in the new parts...and you will magically have factory infiniti navigation!...dont forget to connect the gps antenna to the dvd drive...i tucked the antenna inside the dash and it works great...add the navigation disc and you are done

That's awesome. Probably going to be the best modification you'll ever do.

Nice job.
