**Official 2011-2012 NFL thread**

How are your teams doing this season so far?  What do you think are the "sleeper" teams to look out for this season?  So far, the Bills, Lions, and Brown have impressed me but it is still early and the season is still long.

I've got Green Bay and Patriots in the SB this season lol

So far I'm owning in both my fantasy leagues w/o! Tom Brady LOL!
 
Lions and bills are my surprise. I was pulling for Miami but :P

My team is and always has been the Titans :pat:

I am surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet...but how the heck did the Bills pull off that win?! I mean I know there good & I am glad they beat the Pats but what about people betting on the sport?! I usually do a parlay on games & I picked every team except for the Bills & the effin Raiders! Wth I know any given Sunday but those 2 teams costed me a $2grand pot... And I am not even gonna mention the MNF game w/ my team Dallas...got fed up of watching the kickers outshine every one else on the field.

Bettors, keep in mind (I read this on SI some time ago) that when an east coast team plays a westcoast team & vice versa the visiting team is like 65% likely to lose(dont quote me on the percentage but I thnk is way higher than that.) 
 
I saw the raiders crumbling in buff last week & even saw my own team not being to pull it off against a "decent" offense when it clicks... I NEVER saw the bills beating the patriots, that's for sure...

of course...i knew the raiders would lose..coming off short week (monday night football the week before) traveling to another time zone, playing a team who really wants to prove themselves....raiders are looking solid and will probably clench their division, but are we supposed to trust the youngest, least disciplined team to be ready for game day after a short week in another timezone?

The Bills win didn't surprise me although I wouldn't of (nor did I) put money on them defeating the Pats...but Brady getting picked 4 times was a hugeee shocker,
and as much as I hate to give props to the Raiders, Oakland did sweep that division last year, and they look more dominanting than ever. Not to mentioned the Chiefs are 0-3
The Lions are 3-0!!!! isn't this the same team that went winless in 08?:pat: haha it was a good run for them but its all comming to an end this Sunday against Dallas. The Cowboys are a whole different team at home..
And Vick is taking a beating! But what do you expect from a QB who thinks he's a running back? At least it was his right hand since he throws left handed.

Raiders > Pats this weekend.

^now thats a tough call to make...they dont have near the passing prowness that the bills have...campbell is playing solid, but not spectacular..good enough in the way that hes distributing the ball to his own team and not the other...mcfadden will still have a good day, but the patriots run D is stronger than their embarrasingly weak pass D.  I don't think the raiders D without awesomewah is good enough to stop a hungry Brady ready to make up for last weeks mistakes.

Lame ass chargers! I've always thought and said that Rivers is a highly over rated QB. He only gets his numbers by chucking up long passes to recievers that are taller than their defenders. It all starts w/ the QB and it shows, actually, they need to fire Norv Turner already.

U can't be looked as highly overrated, check rivers stats . The numbers dont lie. I agree that my chargers aren't playing up to par however it all starts with leadership. Norv is killing me and I wish we kept marty and you would have to eat your words...

Chargers have the lamest divsion in the league.

Sorry folks but the chargers are DONE this season with Norv or not (along with my cowboys:sad:)...looking at thier schedule I really only seeing them winning 2 more games. But hey I'll start the petition I'll trade you Rivers for Romo any day of the week LOL.

rivers is def. overrated...top 5 qb my ass.  niners are doing good enough, we'll see how they do vs giants/ravers/steelers....rest of the games are super easy division games...we in the playoffs for sure.

I agree, Rivers is an very good quarterback....top 10 def idk about top 5...but he is not overrated, if anything he is underrated IMO

Im not saying he is the best QB but he is a good quarterback....but with newer QB's the game is changing like crazy, QB's are running more and more...never said he was the best but he is good

I seriously hate Tim Tebow and the fact that he keeps "leading" the Bronco's to victory so undeservingly upsets me even more.
I hated him back in Florida and its growing by each passing Sunday...

Rivers is a great qb.  I don't know what happened this season but this season is yet to be over.  Earlier in this season he isn't performing at his usual from the past.  He still is a great qb and I am not going to judge him based on this season, alone.

Lets just say if he was a free agent, Colts or Bears would pick him up without a doubt!  As would any other team who doesn't need a qb LOL  I know the Texans would!

Man what a disappointing weekend...

I'm happy that the 9r's won (gotta root for the Cali team) but I was expecting the saints & packers to advance.
Not taking any credit away from SF/NY but I felt NO/GB lost it for themselves ie: turnovers & drop passes... especially since the packers paid of the reffs- those guys were getting all the love on calls lol, oh well:shrug:

I don't think the ravens can go all the way but I'll never doubt that team as long  as ray lewis is still playing for them. Flacco's a joke so well see what their defense gives them ie: ED REED!

Dissapointing weekend??!!! It was a great  and crazy weeekend! 
Both teams that dominated the season get knocked out in the first post season game! Good shit! 
 
And ED REED is a fuckin BEAST!!!!!! SF/B'more SB would be dope to see! Miss SF being in the Super Bowl. Hopefully B'mores D can hold off the Pats and put Brady in the ground. Giants game is going to be good though, if that's how they playing!
 
And gotta give Tebow some credit, as much as I could not stand all the sportcenter praises and hype over the dude, he still did his thing. How he does next season will sum it all up for me.

I had good money betting on the saints going on the way and im still bitter from that loss.

But as a fan of football yes, how exciting was those last couple minutes to the SF/NO game. I knew the saints would come back but I didn't expect the 9r's to come back from that haha, especially with their conservative play calling.
I only wished Graham would of "fell" before the goal so the saints could of ran out the clock some but it is what it is.

The Giants are playing with the eye of the tiger I swear they are looking really good and wouldn't doubt anything from them at this moment.

and next season I don't see much of tebow on sportscenter his option plays have been exposed they figured him out. Vick adapted and we seen how strong his arm in and how much of a treat (inconsistent) he his I dont see a furture like that for Tebow. And expect to see a replacement mid season :giggity:

i can truely see niners winning the whole thing...packers truely beat themselves with the dropped passes and the missed tackles...but i think the niners D can account for a lot of the mistakes brees made on offense...put a lot of pressure on him and had good coverage...justin smith for defensive player of the year no lie...im not afraid of giants at home, and if b'more takes down the pats, i think we have a SUPER strong shot and winning the whole thing...yea we lost to the ravens in regular season, but that was in balitmore where they play considerably better.  id say our defenses and offenses are pretty much even give or take, but our special teams will take us over the top

FYI: Ochocinco put out 28k just to buy all of his team mates BEATS headphones as a way of saying thank you for making it to the Super Bowl.  That is the 2nd gift to the Pats this week.  Earlier, pretty boy Brady, got all of his team mates UGG boots :smiley-rofl:

The Pats are favored to win by 3 and the over/under is like 55 (thats pretty high). Rob Gronkowski playing or not playing is going to be a HUGE factor, I think he has caught like half of all NE's touchdowns and even if he plays I doubt he'll be 100%, so we will see.

as long as NE has a healthy TE, doesnt matter who, they will be fine, its their system that is good not necessarily their players. IMO.

That stupid challenge cost NE a much needed time out..all those open dropped passes in the final drive. I mean NE couldn't gotten one of the Gmens fumbles?! But ultimately I point the finger at Walker's drop pass needed to move those chains late in the 4th, after that it was all bad lol.
I was feeling sooo confident until the last 4mins of the game. When NY didnt take a knee and scored and the Pats had it with a min to go I felt that Brady hope but not today it was a destined win for NY and it came down to another single great catch for the Gmen.
 
Props I guess... well at least this was another great memorable superbowl memory but damn my monies:signdammit:lol
