SC #2

I figured I might as well make a build thread for my daily SC. It's a '99 and I bought it in January with only 60k miles. It was dealer maintained with the 60k service already done and it was in near mint condition so I jumped on it. It has 66k now and I've collected a few parts for it.

The coils/wheels/exhaust should be installed in the next few weeks. I'm not a fan of the tips on the exhaust so I'm going to change them to Porsche style oval tips. I plan on ordering the Wise/Behrman front lip pretty soon and that will likely be it for this car.

clean and low miles. you didn't want to change it up and get a different car to daily?

depending on how low and aggressive you go with the fitment, this "daily" sc will be more show worthy than half the other sc's hahaha gotta be weird to see you pull up in a different sc every other day

i was looking for a 2gs/2ls/sc (something cheap, reliable, and comfortable) at the time and i found this for a great deal. i couldnt find another car with that low of mileage, dealer maintained, and great condition at a low price point. i kind of had to get it lol, it was just too good of a deal to pass up.

dude, a little while ago i saw u put the brakes/coils/wheels up for sale. Hence i assumed u stopped this build, no??

i think he just decided to not sell them and throw the spare parts from sc #1 onto sc #2.

oh. i decided not to sell the coilovers after all. got rid of the brakes because it was too much of a hassle to work the wheels around them. and i have 2 sets of the veilsides - one set is for sale and the other set is going on this car.

coilovers are on thanks to anis's help. the perch under the spring is seized though :(. we tried liquid wrench and a breaker bar, but it didnt work. i ordered some aero kroil so im hoping it does the trick.

Does it only adjust from the perch underneath the spring or can u also adjust it with the body of the coil over

only underneath the spring


it took some muscle but i got the front lowered. i can go another half an inch till i scrape going up my driveway. the passenger rear is still seized. all i can do is wait and see what the kroil solvent will do.

yea after doing some research, it turns out pb is pretty weak. i would try the tranny fluid/acetone mix since i have quite a bit of both laying around, but i dont want to fuck shit up lol.

its $12 + shipping for a small can on amazon, but i found this deal directly through kano labs - [url]http://www.kanolabs.com/late/[/url] - $12 for 2 king size cans including shipping. i can also use this to clean guns, which is nice.

yep same shit different spring

drivers side rear came loose after spraying the kroil on it. bunch of nasty shit started coming out when the perch was turning. the passenger rear is still stuck. used my jacks handle for leverage on the spanner wrench and got the perch to move maybe 10mm, but that was it. le sigh.

nice. how's the ride quality on the coils?

nothing beats oem, but it isnt bad. its comfortable on flat roads.

slightly lower up front please.

dont have much for updates..

my car got some water in it from a random storm a few weeks ago. it wasnt high enough to reach any electronics, but my carpet was soaked. so i took the opportunity to dynamat the floor and lay down some closed cell foam while the carpet was being steam cleaned. the carpet had some stains in between the seats from the previous owner(s) so im glad that got taken care of.
