NEW m35(y50 i think?)
HI! :inoutwavey: just got a 2008 m35 last week, and already looking into mods. And this seems like the best forum for me since all the other m35 forums are filled with old people. My first mod i want to do is coilovers, and i was reading that the megans from the 350z/g35 work but sit waaaaaay toooo low. What i was wondering is with the megan EZ coilovers being used as a cheaper alternative, and they do not get as low, would that be an ideal choice for us m35 guys?

Duhhhhhh im gonna keep it clean. Went to pepboys today and saw some chrome things that make my fenders look like maserati fenders and some chrome tips i can put on my exhaust!!! The guy behind the counter also said theirs some altezza lights for my model too!!! Naw jp haha yeah keeping it clean is the plan, a simple drop or bags, with some 20s will do. Whats wrong with megans?? Alot of my lexus friends run megans and dont have problems. Ive read that BC racing and megan come out of the same factory. And megans get the lowest. So anyone got any opinions about my megan ez coils idea? Or info about bagging my stock suspension?

Thanks, but i was gonna bag stock suspension because ive heard you can but im not sure the range of how high/low it can go, comfort, and longevity. if its similiar to having bags on coils then why throw more money into the suspension.

Yeah lol all my other car friends who do run bags had UAS and said they rode like a cloud! Whats ur experience with ksport? Cause my car is gonna be a daily in south florida. And longevity would be something i gotta keep in mind. About 2000 miles a month on this car. Anything you know about being bagged on stock suspension with ksport??

I hate to say it because you want the best bang for your buck, but when it comes to suspension, you usually get what you pay for. So in this case, some might say it comes down to what you want and what you can spend. Ride quality has so many variables, but for Airsus itself I believe it comes down to two main things. One being the strut itself. The other being the psi you drive at. These two things combined will play a big role in how the suspension rides, how long it lasts, and how effective it is. Imo UAS is a great setup because it can work with many different brands/makes of struts. Assuming the chassis you're building has good aftermarket support, this allows you to choose a strut that is designed to ride at the ride heights you're looking for, as well as any preferance you might have in regards to build quality and/or build or assembly origin. Premade kits can also be good, especially for certain chassis that do not have many options, but they should still be researched (and questions should be asked) to determine it's what you're looking for.
For example, for my G50, the two popular premade kits are Airrunner, built on KYB struts (Japan), or Ksport built on Ksport struts (Taiwan). Of the two, Airrunner seems to be considered the better brand and this is reflected in the price (5k vs 2-3k). However, I don't particularly like either brand, and I'm running JIC coilovers (Japan), so the better setup for me (based on my personal pref) would be UAS over the JIC struts. Unfortunately UAS does not easily fit my chassis, meaning I continue the search, but you get the idea. You can do UAS over the stock struts but they were prob not designed for those ride heights, and might not last as long as an aftermarket strut. You could also do Ksport or UAS over Megans or UAS over some high end race quality strut assembled in Japan. Each one will get the job done, but each one will likely have differences in how they ride at different ride heights, and how long they last at certain ride heights. All depends on what you looking for, and what you can spend

Just did this simple thing today!

Real simple just running RCA to ipod cord with an ipod touch. Now all i need to do is the nav hack to ground the ebrake and Vehicle speed sensor. my friend told me that the RCA input on the center console should run to another connection where i can disconnect the center console cords and put in the ipod rcas. Can anyone confirm this?? Or am i gonna have to cut the wires and solder?(The goal is to have the ipod cord come out of the center console)

they ride great. I can feel bumps in the road but nothing crazy and comfort is still there, and i like that because it gives me a better feel when im driving. kindof like basketball shoes, it was like going from lebrons shoes to kobes shoes.

i was gonna wait to rebarrel the wheels and relip them, but my family bought me tires for xmas . so i guess this is how im gonna keep them until i get some funds to step lip them and make the offsets a little more aggressive.

im thinking about something crazy when i plan on step lipping these rims, but idk how itll turn out and if i would regret it. but what would everyones opinion be on making them gold?? not paint gold, but ive seen a set of leons that are 24k gold. just thought it would be nice/different especially with the step lip. but at the same time the car has so much chrome on it idk if it would clash
