So guys I sold the GS - now looking at UFC20/21 - is there a huge performance gap?

So guys I ended up selling the GS in less than 8 hours yesterday. Pretty crazy actually. So now Im delivering the car to a guy in Fresno, CA and will literally be car less. Ive got a few deals on CL in LA and Fresno that Im looking at. Mainly 98+ LS400's, but I have found a few clean 96+'s. Is the new tranny and VVTi worth the extra 1-3k in price? The interior is roughly the same quality correct? 
 
Please help me make a descision as I am off to Fresno Monday night and will be making a purchase on Tuesday to drive home in... LMAO...

I think the 98+ models look a lot cleaner.  They have a different fascia.

Yea I feel the same way too... Just that Ive also found some clean low mileage 97's for great prices.

I have come to love both pre/post fascias of the ucf2x. 
 
I definitely recommend waiting for a clean 98-2000 for the trans and vvt-i, because one day you will drive an ls400 with it, and if you dont get it...you will be disappointed, haha.

Lol yup, found a clean 2000 with 73,000 miles on her for 9k.... Off to cali I go on monday to deliver my gs to her proud new owner. Then to pick up and drive home my new LS. From vegas to fresno to LA back to vegas all in 36 hours.... Wish me luck guys

yeah dude, get 98+ LS400.....you will be much happier imo.

I'd go with a 98+ considering you'll have the updated front fascia and vvti.  Looks much better than its predecessor.

Off course I can wait a bit. But how long you been running on yours? LMK when you get your PBM's and Ill shoot you the cash as long as they arent to run down LOL. These off brand coils are so cheap new its kinda hard not to just buy new..
