So I went to a house warming party for RWB's arrival in the states, and all i can say after seeing the quality in person is i am super jealous. heres some pictures i took...they are all on my cell phone so they arent the best, but i figured id share anyway.
There are three RWB porsches in the states thus far. one belongs, i believe, to the head of DC SHOES, but i didnt get any pics of it. this one belongs to fatlace, and is done in typical RWB fashion..
this thing was absolutely sick and id love to daily it. the matte green with black accents is really nice.
this next one was done with a gloss paint finish, and it completely transformed the feel of the car. where as the green one has the old school classic RWB feel, the gloss paint made this grey one feel like a modern day race car.
there were a few other nice cars, such as mark's personal drift car and the hakosukas, but we've all seen those before. i did, however, find this gem..

my pics def, do not do this car justice.

yeah. it is good to see it taking off for sure!
but, i was skeptical at first. Since it is fatlace and all that other hypster stuff I was worried it was going to get diluted down like the rest of the "movements" but, the price is above what most trendy people can afford, and its the man him self to come over and put it together. which now, i am more comfortable with. I was afraid they were going to lose their magic. but infact it is just as magical since he comes to your area to do it.

As much as you think Fatlace is the hype and what not, This wont fade away. NO one knew who this man was and what RWB stand for. Witch i believe is good. Im not trying to back anyone up here but i dont think the OG fitment heads will stop fitting cars just cuz this "fade" is gone. All the OG will keep doing what they are doing and wont focus on whats in now a days. Im sure Nakai-san has been famous in Japan for a min now, and im sure he still has his fame. But like you said above, RWB stuff is not cheap and the car to rock the parts aren't cheap either , so this wont be the "new Hype".

Personally not too fond on how all the RWB US cars look. I think it is because of the Rotiform wheels.
Really love all of Nakai's work though

its original in a sense that rwb does not use them. not original cause they are using them. But if they are brothers, good friends or owners, its only right to use them

using rotiform is less original than using ssr professors? you guys also know that RWB is coming out with their own wheel (if they havnt already) from a euro brand.
ive never been the biggest fan of RWB, thought it was played out..but seeing these in person, especially that grey one, oh man im a believer. I didnt like the white one tho, and thats why i didnt take any pics of it.

RWB been the shit. and the astronomical cost of their Porsche kits is justified by the exclusivity.
nothing but great shit as usual.

RWB by DPE. the other car is based out of Texas from Mayday Garage. i personally think all cars look great with their own added taste (wheels) besides the Mayday which still wears SSR's but not complaining as they still look great. The DPE wheels are being made so you wont have to use a spacer like they have to with the Professors.
SSR sizes for the TX car
18x10.5 -13 front
18x13 -19 rear

I think what ever is on that green car is tight. keeps kinda true to era specific. just the dog cone needs to be on the out side of the spokes rather than the back side. But, still all good.
When it comes to Porsche, its one of my faves, and my loves. So seeing RWB does mean a lot to me. I just hate the commercialization of it. Or rather soon to be. But to be honest.. How original is RWB? If you know the history of Porsche, then you are very familiar with the racing heritiage of it all. RWB is merely emulating the GT Cup cars of yesteryear.
You say its original, i say its originality. If I came out with a company and made a few 911s 930s 993s etc with the GT cup gt3 and gt2 kits and drove them on the street. You would have what you see here. Just a more toned up version. Everyone likes the idea of a race car on the street, and this is exactly what it is. A tuner version of a race car.
I have had this talk what is almost couple years ago about this. Before RWB is known like it is. All the kits they call their own, is nothing more than finely variations of what I have in my distributor catalogs. Now, If i was to do what I plan on, and make a gt3 cup car for the street. I would have to defend that it is emulating RWB style, for the uneducated dont realize, it started in germany, and like most japanese things take someone elses idea and make their own version.
And the parts I get. Are complete dry carbon, kevlar, and frp options. That is including the whole quarter panel replacement, roof, the add on wide arch, door, front fender hood, and front and rear bumpers splitters, and banana wing and whale tale. If you were to purchase all of this, you would come up with the same price as what they are selling the kit for. which is not carbon or as extensive. When I dug into who rwb is ( while I still believe it is an awesome thing to see), the magic was pretty much gone for me when i learned more.. As it was just a replica of something that is already out, and the fan boys and enthusiasts to this new movement have no idea where it came from.
end rant, on with pics:

lookin pretty RWB.. I mean.. other way around.
With out the "stance" and the lower intake vents on front bumper shortend it is what is the green car.
found of the same kit the only thing different is bumper mod and side skirt
So, if you all wanna build a SCB Soft Country Burgercliffnotes car. Hit me up! hahahaha

i think this is evolution. the stance game is suspension and suspension is (should be) about performance. once cats go beyond the "slam it at any cost and throw some wheels on" mindset the game will change for the better. i expect it will also bleed into other areas of the car. form + function = win.
i give rotiform their props. the designs aren't really geared towards my preferance (although i don't dislike them either) but they actually do some engineering to produce wheels with inreased functionality (lightening, cooling, etc.).
this is all good stuff in my eyes.
