Ha! It only takes 90 seconds to warm a burrito but then you have to deal with the rectal consequences. I cant say no to hot sauce! Well as for my car, The firs pic is the most recent version of the car. I have a ton of pics over the time I have had the car, Ill post up some of the better ones. Been looking around for a beater to drive so I can get busy and do some serious work on the GS. I paint cars for a living so that will be the strong point of my build. I painted MDSC's SC300 it's in the lexus/toyota section of this site if you want to check out my work. I can prob dig up some pics of my REDNECK PUCKUP that I painted a few years ago too. It turned out pretty good.

Ive been browsing around on this site for a few months now but every time I come here I end up staring at speedaddic's and gato's cars until like 1:30 in the morning. Dont get me wrong there are so many cars I like here but those are two of my favorites. I have never really built a car before, always wanted to but never found a style that I could get into enough to make the move and do it. Some of the tuner cars in magazines are nice but most of the ones you see on the street are incomplete ragged out buckets with some made-in-china cheap crap attached with drywall screws. Then I was interested in the lowrider truck's because of the wild graphics and airbrushing, shaved door handles, big chrome wheels tucking on air suspension, C-notch frames and body drops. But while I can admire the craftsmanship put into these builds, this was not my personal style. Then I found VIP and I was like Yes surr lemme git suma dat. I will be doing some "out of the box" things with my car so it might not be for everyone, might not even be "VIP" in the end but whatever..............

I really like the old school styling of choppers and rat rods/ hot rods. HOK big flake, pinstriping, gold leaf, lacing, fabrication, and just the overall creative ideas.
Check this for an idea of what im talking about.
http://thebackstreetbucket.blogspot.com/
Not saying im going to do HOK big flake or rock some rusty panels on the GS but we'll see. Like many have said before, coming up with the idea is not the hard part, its the execution .................. But hey, at least I have a platform. I dont know about some of the other noooooobs posting,,,,"This is my 93 jeep cherokee, I know it not a VIP platform but"....... Come on!! read the sticky's.

Here are some pics of things I have done in the past.First is my gixxer. The pics dont show it but the color was really badass. Two-tone solid black and a custom mix I did black with gold pearl. This is the only pic I have of my bike before......... well,About a month after I did all this work it was wadded up on the outside turn of an exit ramp off Rt.50. Shut-up I dont want to talk about it.

Sorry to hear I had a similar experience w/ my gsxr but I was being an idiot...did a seat stander & tried to scrape the tail on the freeway wearing only a t-shirt & jeans. Woke up with a broken femur ,bruised ribs, & the obvious road rash. I guess that's what happens when your young & just come back from a deployment thinking your invisible
:pat:

anyways the paints proper as is your GS I'm tuned in for the build!

The first pic I posted is how my car currently sits, but I have been working in it for about 6 months. So let me take a few steps back and show you guys what I have done so far.

Here is my car totally stock. Jonk was so high I could take it off-road in the woods.

First thing was a drop. Tanabe DF-210's and bilstein shocks. Also did the full diazen bushing kit.
Forum image

Then I picked up some Racing Harts 19 inch from a member on clublexus. I dont know if these wheels are considered to be knock offs but I really like them. Five spoke is just classic if you ask me.

And of course everybody knows the GS looks so much better with no spoiler so I deleted that bitch. Also cleared the orange out of my tails around the same time. And my friend welded some 4" diesel truck tips to the stock mufflers! BOOM! I call this my "JUNCTION PHARMACY" exhaust.=)

Thanks fellas, What I did with the tails was sand them down with 500 grit sandpaper, and then mixed up some clear and added just a few drops of black paint. And then I just cleared them like I would clear anything else. If you look at the white paper I have them laid on you can see the dark spot where the overspray went. So basicly the result is a light smoked look that is glossy. I dont really like the look of some tinted tails where they are so dark it looks like some black blobs on the back of the car. And the "nightshades" spray-can junx is even worse. I have seen that on some cars that come into the shop, looks all fuzzy and flat and uneven. I just wanted a light tint ,almost something you dont even notice.

Been working on some UCA clearance now that I am much lower than I used to be. I looked at what other people had done with the hole saw and thought it looked pretty nasty and unfinished. Also saw where people had welded a box over the hole and that looked much much better but I thought the box was a little bigger than it needed to be. My whole idea with this is to make it look as factory as possible, like nothing has ever been done. I thought I could cut the bottom layer off of the shock tower and leave the top layer that you see when you stare into the open the engine bay. So I cut off the bottom layer and drove for a week and the arm was still hitting. To keep it looking as factory as possible I just made some small cuts in the shock tower and pried up a little flap with a screwdriver. And this is where Im at now. 90% of driving now is smooth but still have some noise over larger bumps. Ill figure this out next time Im on the lift.

This is the first cut I made. There is about 3/4 inch clearance between the two layers but this was not enough clearance to stop the arm from hitting.
Forum image
The bolt from the rectifier bracket was sticking down so I cut it off. It was extremely difficult cutting in here because it was so tight. The gap between the layers will be filled in and seam sealed when finished.
Forum image

This pinch weld also needed to be notched. I am still getting some noise over larger bumps and I think this is the cause. Next time Im on the lift Ill cut a larger notch and then put a few spot welds on it.
Forum image

Here is the cut on top.My idea is to make a flap of metal and raise it up and then fill in the open area, grind it, and then smooth it out with some metal glaze. Then prime it and paint it. Hopefully it will look like nothing was ever done when its all finished.

That was the nicest way I could say it. Its one thing to have a ragged jagged hole on a 2x4 inside the wall of a house, but I dont want my engine bay looking Im about to run some electrical wire through it and install a dimmer switch for a chandelier.:pat:

^That's the proper way of increasing UCA clearance. I'd did the same and it looks nice and OEM, although the bulges have a little size difference:
http://www.vipstylecars.com/forums/showpost.php?p=376901&postcount=29

Oh and remember to check that you have enough extra clearance around the ball joint when it sticks out (=large enough cut) so if/when you get different brand (adjustable etc) UCA's that they'd fit as well. I had a scare when I threw my adjustable ones in and only had paper thin gap between the UCA/bulge edge.

OK folks! After over a year I guess its time to knock the dust off this motherfucker and get things going again. My computer has become disabled due to a porn infestation so its a little difficult to post regularly. I dont know where such a large amount of porn could come from but let me just say in my defense that watching beautiful women peeing down the side of a rock in the wilderness is just dirty. ITS DIRTY!!

So I have just been taking some time to do a little maintenance and also develop a plan for my car. 230k and the GS4 is going strong as ever.

Maintenance items include;

Timing belt
Water pump
Valve cover gaskets (were leaking oil)
Steering rack
Inner/outer tie rods
Power steering pump
Alternator
Lower front control arms (daizen bushings were toasted)
Replaced the vacuum valve on the charcoal canister(pain in the ass)
Right front wheel bearing
Transmission fluid replaced along with new filter
The third brake light on my GS was deleted with the wing so after being hassled by the man I was forced to install a temporary fix.Not pretty but got the sign-off

And of course tires. I threw on some fresh rubber at the same time I made a height adjustment and got a proper alignment. Nankangs went on the front and Achilles went on the rear. Now I know that the front suffers more wear than the rear but I have gone through two sets of nankangs and have not even flipped the achilles! What the hell?? Currently have a set of nexens on the front.

A few small things in the mod department so I guess Ill mention them,

Picked up a set of T.R.D. sway bars and I have to admit that this has been my favorite mod so far!
Also got some figs sway-bar end-links.

Went to Benchmade Proper and had them fab up an exhaust for me.Its basicly an axle-back system with T.I.G. welded stainless piping with Vibrant resonators and 4" tips. Sounds great.

And the big news is I finally decided on and ordered wheels. After test fitting MDSC's SP3's on my car I was able to come up with an offset that I think I can work with.
But I will need quite a few suspension components along with some fender massaging to get the fit dialed in.
Wheel specs will be

Front 19x9.5 +0
Rear 19x11 +19

Plan on running a little camber. Somewhere in the -5 to -7 range. Matching front and rear if things go my way.

This is my first time modding any car so I am learning as I go. And Im also well aware that we are living in the over-stimulated instant gratification world of facebook and instagram but that is not my style and plus this is a cash build. That means that if I am about to spend 5Gs on some wheels. Then I better have 10 in the bank. Nah mean? So bear with me folks. I promise the end result will be interesting.....................

Why not go with a 10" in the front? You'll have better tire size selection and running a wider tire will lower the risk of wheel bends and tire bubbles.

I like where this is going!

Guess I forgot to mention I already have my wheels! Have a few pics on me tele but you can see a real PHO-TO-GRAPH of my boring ass vxs-110's in the vipmodular customer wheel thread post #47. In hindsight 10" may have been a better option but hopefully I can make things work with a 225/35/19 on a 9.5".
Been running a 215/35/19 on a 8.5" which is a mild stretch.

Not sure how the black and gold combo will look against the red but final color of the car is still up in the air.

And heres a few quick shots after I rinsed all the salt off my car. I wanted to see how the chrome trim on the door moldings would look blacked out so I went over it with electrical tape. I think I like it. Its holding up pretty good too. Ill do something more permanent when it comes time to paint.

Picked up some Battle version stuff from OG. Also got some Project Kics black chrome nuts for my wheels.
Ordered some custom BCs as well but will take a few weeks to arrive.
Waiting to see if the yen will go over 100 before I make my next suspension purchase,,,,,,hint hint.

Whats up jimmy! Ill be at springfest for sure. GS got sideswiped a few days ago, nothing major just debating weather to drive or just ride with Andrey. Quarter panel rubs tire on bumps and my racing harts are looking pretty beat after winter but I might just say F-it and just drive anyway.

Here are a few test fit shots. These are a friends wheels that I tried on a while ago When trying to decide what offset to get. Still need a few more sus components before I can start fitting my wheels but this will give you an idea of what I will be working with.

Plan is to to lower the front to a one finger gap between fender and rim with the top slightly sunk for driveability.

Plan for the rear is to tuck rim into quarter panel. I dont know if I can pull this off but im going to try. LOL!

But I was quickly blown when I found out they would not work with my coilovers. Apparently BC coilovers come with two different shaft diameters. 13mm and 20mm??? What the fuck!

Well things have taken a turn with my build. I really love my GS and it is a great car, but with it pushing 235k I have decided that is not wise to spend so much money modifying a car of that age. So I have decided to quit modifying this car and move on to other things. And by move on to other things I mean that I bought another GS with low (er) miles and that will become my New project car. I will continue to drive my cinnabar as a daily driver and continue my original plans with the new GS. Also I have parts for an exhaust system that should look real nice and sound even nicer. Also lets just say I have decided to go "all in" with my suspension. And I finally decided on a color for my project.

You mean like high noon sunlight? I'll get a pic of that. You really see a lot of the gold pearl in that lighting. But as you move in closer the gold dies out and turns more silvery.

I already sold the cups back to the guy I bought them from. Anyways my car is going to be so low that I don't think having cups will help very much. I'll just deal with whatever comes my way.lol Should have my complete suspension in a few weeks. Stay tuned muthafukaaas!!!

Oh and I got a GS400,2000 same as my cinnabar. It's silver with black interior. It's the platinum edition whatever the hell that means. It has a TRD strut bar, black chrome headlights and also came with a real TTE lip! So now I have two TTE lips! Lol

Yeah that or a studio lighting. Is it an OEM color or a crazy mix?

This is under a pretty bright light in my basement.

My real camera is m.i.a. at the moment. So all I have are instagram links. Not that great for true to life colors but you get the idea. The color is a factory G.M. color mixed to spec, nothing added or taken away. It's been really hard to decide on a color. Being a painter I just want to paint my car every color.lol! This piece of bumper has at least 20 different paint jobs on it. And on top of that I have prob done at least 50 spray out cards trying to narrow it down. I really dig wild paint jobs on lowriders but this car needed something more understated. But I'm a painter so I can't have some boring shit and my wheels don't exactly go with everything. So I came across this and I'm pretty satisfied. It's understated, it's interesting because it always looks different, and I think it will go real well with the black and gold wheels.
