Aimgain Q45 F50
Hey guys, I finally got my hands on my Aimgain kit for my F50 Q45, and so the build finally begins. Hopefully I'll be able to chronicle a little bit about what is going on with the car. I have a couple of pics that I took and I'll post them up as soon as I can figure out how to do it! =)

This is where it all started from.

Then came this. Out of which came....

This and,

Among other things. Our next step was....

and on went the Aimgain exhaust. I didn't know that the Q45 exhaust was valvetronic. It's full open now though.

A little closer look.
Then after a lot of trials and tribulations but after only two days.
The story is a little rushed but I think you guys get the gist of it.=)

I got the Aimgain exhaust as well as the kit with the fog lights so it was a bit more than $3000.00 lets say. The kit came from 3T Motorsport.
I was actually really surprised about the lack of moldings for the kit but I found out that the mouldings are actually stock Nissan items on the Cima. I had the mouldings flown out to me after the fact so I do have them on the car now. The mouldings themselves come out to about $600.00. Ouch. I'll try to take some more pics tomorrow. I'm not really happy about the gaps that I have in my fenders right now but it's the best I can do for now I guess. I hope to have the car on air by the time HIN comes around.

600?? so I'm guessing you bought the door mouldings as well to match? Did you get the trunk chrome garnish while getting the mouldings? Looks so much cleaner. When I had my F50 I just bought the mouldings used on yahoo auction but they were alittle scratched up so I had them body color painted. I don't think any kits come with mouldings because in japan you would have just reused your stock mouldings. Did the kit atleast come with those LED strips?

Yup, that is the one. I had two days to get it ready to go to SEMA. It just wasn't ready to go though. The wheels are JimGainer GTR wheels that I borrowed for the show with spacers in the front. I changed them out from my wheels to see if I could cover up the nasty fender gap in the front but it didn't help much.
I'm not really going for the "VIP" look but something a little sportier because I think the design of the car lends to it better. The mouldings are all new from Nissan in Japan but I haven't put on the door pieces yet because it needs to go back to the shop to get redone since it was a rush job to get it to SEMA. By the way if you guys are looking for really good body and paint contact South Coast Auto Collision in Harbor City. Let him know the guy with the Q45 sent you there. PM me if you want his contact info. It's always hard to find people who will take care of your car right.
What do you guys do with the lowering of the car? I put in Swift springs but that just didn't do anything. Airlift came to look at the car and they are willing to do a custom airbag lowering for it because they don't have anything available. More than likely that's where it is going to go.

@Blitz- I didn't know that there was a trunk piece. I'll look for it. Yes, I did get the LED strips for the front and the rear. I think at night it looks pretty nice. I'll try to get some night time pics with the LEDs turned on.

You can run the same psMAX coilovers I'm running! The F50 and Y34 suspension is identical, only thing you might do is ask Dan @MAX for 1 notch stiffer springs front/rear cause F50 is a little bit heavier, and you're set! DO IT!!! I love my MAX coils. And I know they actually have the Y34 apps in stock now, so no wait, even ground from San Diego would only take a day to get to you.
It's coming along great BTW.

Some updated pics of the Q at HIN. Barely got the suspension ready enough to take to the show. Needs to go back to the shop to finish but basically this is what it looks like. I tried to fit the Weds wheels that I have but just didn't have enough time to get it done.

Thanks for all of the comments. Just got back from Japan yesterday and jet lag is killin me.
As far as the side moldings are concerned, I really don't know. I have the JDM chrome ones sitting in my garage but the car still needs to go back to the body shop to get painted. I can't decide whether or not to paint all of them body color or to leave them chrome. Maybe chrome just because it's a JDM thing. One of the dealers that I work with over in Japan is planning to buy a Nissan Cima so that I can get all of the Cima parts and send him all of the Infiniti parts. We'll see how that goes.
Airlift came out and did a complete custom fabrication and installation. Still not done so it needs to go back to them but I wanted to take it to HIN.

Okay, a little update. Had some issues with a stripped lug. Someone probably hit it with the impact a little harder than they should have. At any rate, had a hard time getting my other wheels off because of it. I had to drill the stud to take the lug nut off. Pain in the a$$! Well, the wheels are on it now and I just went to the Krispy Kreme meet last night. Hella people by the way. Like the old days. I have a few pics.
So it looks kind of like this.

Fitment is stellar. No modifications were made to put onto the car. It has all of the tabs and the backing nuts in place so it was direct bolt on. I still haven't wired in the fogs because the F50 doesn't come with any so no switch. I need to take the kit back off so when that happens I'll wire the lights.

I was able to keep the front intact but the rear had to come off. I'll be making a custom one out of a 2"x2" beam to tie the two frame horns together. I just had a guy ask me about this yesterday. I am guessing that the design of the crash bar on the Cima and the Q45 are different. I may even try to source out the Cima crash bar to see if it will fit.
