HELP ME DECIDE Y33 OR F50 PLEASE BUYING A CAR THIS WEEK !!

Hey guys Im new to the vip scene I'm getting a headache deciding if i should get a 2001 q45t with only 70.000 miles one owner silver with black interior or a 2003 f50 base with navigation with only 51000 miles black on black . i like the y33 because you can upgrade the stereo to a double din and the f50 i think its impossible to upgrade to a double din .. i also believe the f50 its much more expensive to do maintenance Right ? or i could be wrong the 2001 its 9000 and the 2003 is 12500 . So if u can guys can give me any advice i will really appreciated and trust me i search hours and hours in the forums looking up y33 vs f50 and still don't know what to get lol thx guys will be buying one this weekend .

F50 hands down. Too many Y33 builds going on these days and not enough quality F50 builds. IF I had to do it over again it'd be a 50 2005+ though

Hey pancakes is there a reason why you choose to get 2005 + is it the head lights and back lights or are they more reliable then the 2003 ? thanks guys .. what you guys think on the price i think for a 2003 with low miles and all maintenance records for 12500 its a steal ..

F50 sounds like the best bet. Low miles means more money spent on mods vs maintance. Plus like pancakes said there aren't many f50 vs y33 builds ...

I said if I had to do it over again I'd buy a 05+ F50. I still have my Y33.
Reason I'd choose the newer version is because everybody tends to settle for the old version and personally like the newer models w/ the split grille and the extended more modern taillights amongst other things. Just to be different

led taillights on the 05/06, also on the newer models the premium technology package comes with features like lane departure warning, something the older f50's don't have. 05/06 also come standard with foglights and a better looking front bumper. 02-04 foglights not even an option.

i'd keep looking for more f50's and then decide which one is the best. oh btw the 05/06 are crazyyyy rare, everybody buys the "new" m in 06 lol.

I'm actually more of a fan of the Y33. Yes F50 is newer and more modern but the Y33 I feel is more classic. Another reason why I went from F50 to Y33. Don't forget the grill is different too between the 05/06 and older F50s.

I actually don't like being mistaken for a mercedes... I feel like once they know it's a Infiniti they'll think I'm trying to 'imitate' or 'perp' a higher end brand.

I know... I'm crazy

Personally, I don't like the lines of the F50 much. So my vote goes to the Y33.

But, as everyone else has said if YOU like the F50 style then go for it, they are much rarer to see quality in.

F50. The interior is so much sicker. Even an 02 interior looks like it could of came on a 012 model. Do an 05 if you can for the metal knobs, conolly leather and nicer stock exterior if you can manage. Exterior is a toss up in looks IMO but I prefer the F50 when modded vs. a similar modded y33

Can't go wrong with either car. I'd say the y33 is more reliable while the f50 has nearly a 1/3 more power.

Y33 is more reliable? Really? Where do these comments come from? I had a Y33 for 6 years, pretty much bullet proof and I loved it. Now I have a Y34, which has the same engine, trans, suspension, interoor parts, etc. as the F50 and everything I've ever read, and so far in about 18 months experienced, the Y34/F50 is just as bullet proof as any Y33. Just sayin from someone who's had both (at least in terms of engine/trans). Reliability is going to be exactly the same, if not better on an F50 just because it's newer and has less hours on it.

As for looks, etc. the F50 is much more modern, especially the interior. But the Y33 is a proven timeless classic which still looks beautiful today, so it's proven itself over time that it still looks great and not at all outdated. F50 = rarer, newer, more "exclusive", Y33 = timeless classic. So either way, you win.

I have an F50 I think it's a great car. It was a piece of crap when I got it but it was because of owner neglect. So if you find one.... Look for one with service records unless you can do the work yourself. Because with any car it gets costly. I've done alot of work on mine so far but it's all maintainence and ofcouse wheels and suspension lol. Both cars look look like ass when it's stock lol but modded both are SICK! I also agree that you win with either choice. GL

to tell you the truth it's all the chrome that I like most about the Y33. It's not exactly chrome but like a stainless steel looking metal but you guys know what I mean. The windows on the Y33 has abit more and the doors mouldings too. If the USDM F50 had the JDM F50 chrome mouldings all around then I would have liked it alot more.

Me and my brother have owned every model of the Q45 . I currently own two F50, one Y34 and one Y33 that I just purchased 3 months ago. The one of each model have about 180,000km give or take 8,000. The Y33 needs a steering pump and possibly the alternator, the Y34 punched a hole in the block from a broken connecting rod, and the F50 consumes oil.
