Prospective Y33 Owner

Okay, so Ive been looking at getting a y33 for a while but I havent driven one yet. Today, I went to drive one and I loved everything about it. Then, I went to look in the trunk and... it has a TINY trunk. Im coming from an 04 Maxima with the same amount of trunk space AFTER I installed my 2 12's..

So here is the question, does anyone have pictures of a y33 with a custom trunk? I would remove that panel but the gas tank is behind it..

Im liking these trunks! I have an idea for mine, trying to keep it simple and clean but I still want some good bass to reach the cabin..

Now to find a clean y33 that doesn't have issues..

I was talking to my sound guy about the trunk setup and I dont know how well the bass transfers to the cabin.. If its not that good, would it be better to do 1 15 or 2 12s? Or possibly 1 really nice 12?

You really don't need more than 2 tens in a car. Anything larger than a 10" is actually for 20+" projection.

But I don't do car audio, I do live sound so my point of view is more so from the statistical "what makes sense" than the boom boom bass sound view lol

No problem, we are here to help.

But are you taking about the climate control? If you are its burnt out bulbs, if you want to convert those to LED also, those take Neo-4 Wedges from what i remember. Mine are still burnt out also, since my LED guy cant get that size. i'm still trying to finish my LED interior also.

I can help you both of those also.

But for the headunit install, you would need to remove all the wood grain thats in the in center, that goes from the armrest all the way to the vents (vents need to be removed also). Flip up armrest, pop out that piece that it hinges to, remove the screws. SET your foot brake and unlock your shifter and put it in 1, wiggle free the wood grain, flop out ashtray for easier removal and also remove connector for it. After thats removed, use a taped flat head and remove the center vents, you should have about 8-10 phiillips screws shown, remove all of them. And the whole assembly such as radio and climate should come out. should be pretty straight forward to install the radio from there.

For the foglights since most HID bulbs are longer than regular H3 bulbs, you have 2 options to make them fit. Either remove the foglight and bake it to heat up the glue to seperate the glass and plastic, then dremel out the shield. Or you can do what I did temporarily, I just bent it back enough inside the foglight to fit the bulb. Your output suffers the way i did it, but its only until I'm able to bake it to really remove it.

Sorry if it doesnt make sense, its kind of late here. but I wanted to reply haha, let me know if you need any help.
