Y33 Shuts Off at Idle

The Y33 broke down on me for the 3rd time in a week.. And I havent even owned it for 2 weeks.. :saiyancrunks:

The problem: When it is put into drive or reverse, the motor shuts off. When in neutral or park, everything works fine. It has already had the carbon buildup cleaned off of the throttle body..

When it breaks down on me it always does the same thing: Im just driving along and come to a red light. Shortly upon stopping, the motor seems to sputter then it shuts off. The only way to drive it after that point is to lightly hold the brake (just past the click) while giving it gas and keeping it from idling.. To come to a stop, I have to throw it into neutral so the motor doesnt idle too low and shut off.

Its a 2000 Q45 Touring with 266k miles (high mileage but it came from a traveling salesman who has had all verified maintenance records through the same shop w/ oil changes every 4k miles)

Thanks in advance for the help

I know exactly what's wrong. But try this.

With the car running get a long screw driver or something that is about a foot long. Reach onto the side of your air box and tap on your maf. If your car stumble or shuts off it's the maf.

My car used to do e same thing, common problem aroung 150k or so.

nissans are bad about maf failures. could also be an idle control issue....whether it be the iacv (if equipped) or the throttle body itself (if etc equipped)

Ok so it turns out the maf is fine and the throttle body itself has been cleaned already. Im in the worst place to own an Infiniti (the closest dealership is almost 2 hours away) so Im driving halfway home tonight to meet with my dad to swap cars. It went out on me again last night then after getting it towed to my job this morning, my tech and my tow truck driver both drove it and had no issues..

So while its acting right, Im going to get it on the highway and get it to an Infiniti dealership hopefully tomorrow. The one thing that many of the techs agree on is that the computer may have to be reset and apparently there was a bulletin out about that...?

While it is at Infiniti, is there anything else that I should have them check? I know that knock sensors are a big issue with these Qs as well.

My M45 would kinda do that and barely idle. Tho my problem was very loud clacking sound from thrown rod bearings. Then a bang happened and a big hole appeared out the side of the block with oil gushing out of it.
