LS400 with identity crisis, now with LS460 rear.

After gettin' rear-ended and getting insurance money, it was time to follow through with some plans:

Got the LS430 front conversion fixed from all the damages of driving so low:

Added the LS460 tips to the rear. These tips have been sitting around for years, glad I finally got to add them.

Had fender work done, shaved off all the emblems, new chrome trunk bar, DAD emblem on all the keyholes, Fabulous grill, some interior goodies, new LED w/ puddle light side mirrors to replace the crappy Bellezza ones I had before, and JDM Toyota wide-angle blue tint mirrors (the mirror is freaking awesome, I can see my blind spot without having to put on those dumb looking stick on mirrors).

To top off everything, got the car fully repainted in a custom mix of black that's blacker than anything I've ever seen. When I park next to other black cars, I know I am a shade darker than they are, haha. Big thanx to Exotic Inc for doing the work, these guys are top notch.

i've always loved the front end, but the rear end doesn't do it for me. maybe if the tips were upside down and matched the contours of the bumper.

yes...upside down and switch from right to left would definitely fit the contours!

Nice job on the car.

Thanx, it flows with the contour of the Wald lip.

If you guys look at the side, you can see how the tips curves around the bumper, by flipping it around, you no longer have that curve to flow with the bumper.

i see what you're saying.

with what me and speedaddict are saying would work better if you have them sunken into the bumper. looks like they're kind of exposed in the pictures? hard to tell with the black. that black is dark FORREAL. i like it.

^I know what you guys mean, and I agree, it's just a ton of work to make it work the way you guys are talking about, you almost have to rebuild the rear to work with the tips. Not worth it imo, I like the way it is now though. I have not seen any LS400 like mine with these tips in the US.

You should dude, even a stock one still gets me excited whenever I see it on the road. As soon as you get rid of it, I am sure you will regret it.

i didn't really notice it until it was mentioned, but they definitely could have put in more work fitting the exhaust. in my experience, and in their defense, there are a lot of contours to account for with these kind of tips. also, flipping them does not really work because the top edge usually sticks out further than the bottom edge. what really needed to be done was the lower portion of the wald lip should have been built up to meet the edges of the tips. that way it would look integrated, right now it kind of looks slapped on and trimmed.

that being said, the car looks great and i love the approach.

Thanx for the props fellas! I do have sideskirts on Ray316, they're Wald sideskirts. If I add a lip to the front, the front will hang lower than the sides and rear, messing up the balance. When we made the front, it was made to hang lower so that it will flow with the Wald sides and rear.

maybe adding a couple body lines to the front bumper to make it look more "lippy" would continue the flow. or maybe even doin a fiberglass overlay.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I was thinking of making it dip in the center like on how the Wald front lip is. That would flow pretty nice with the rest of the kit as well.

I like the idea of the 460 tips. Makes the car look wider and lower by adding horizontal lines in the rear.
