Italian food: absolutely love it?

I am not really big on italian food. Reason being is b/c its just not that tasty to me. A lot of it is tomato sauce, not all, but too much tomato sauce is just too much for me. My sister is crazy about it and she gets to the point where she actually "craves" italian food. Does anybody here love it to the point where they crave it? Maybe its just me but everybody I know LOVES it? I've eaten other ethnicity foods that are more flavorful and taste so much better, i.e. mexican food, mediterranian, indian, chinese, vietnamese, thai, etc. However i had real authentic italian food last week in NY and it was prob the best italalian food ive ever had though. In general, Italian food just doesn't do it for me..

CLIFF: dog food > italian food

Pizza? Although that's not really italian as much as generic American food.

But I feel you, from a health standpoint, pasta, cheese and cream sauces are horrible for you, especially in the amounts most italian food has.

I'm not a huge fan of it.. now TexMex on the other hand... I'm about to have it for lunch haha.

I was never in on the original post, so I'll just keep on with this one.

I'm in Austin, TexMex heaven... didn't have time to go somewhere good, so I just hit up Taco Cabana for lunch. But I frequent alot of good places here in town, Matt's El Rancho, Hula Hut, Chuy's, Taco Express (breakfast tacos), Juan In a Million, tons of little Taqueria's etc.

But yes, I love Texas and food and the combinations that come from the two.

I love food from just about every corner of the world, and Italian has a special place in my heart. I *looooove* melted cheese, with tomato with anything..

Italian was my first "Favourite food", but of course now i also love Japanese, chinese, Malaysian, Indonesian, Thai, Lao, Eastern European, French, Dutch, Swiss, Spanish, Mexican, i could go on but i have not yet found any cuisines that i dont like. It sucks because in the last few years my love of food has caused me to gain a few pounds. I've since lost all that but it means watching what i eat. Unfortunately Italian was one of the first sacrifices (too many calories  )
