Time to try a VIP inspired Avalon
Hi all I just traded in my car (2004 Acura TL) for a 2009 Toyota Avalon Limited. I first got interested in the VIP scene after seeing Rodney's white 2006 Acura TL, I always wanted to eventually try working on my TL and giving it a VIP style. Needless to say my car was starting to have problems and I also wanted a bigger car. Thus I ended up with my Avalon. After lurking on here for a while I decided to join as a member and hopefully get insparation/advice on giving my Avalon some VIP flavor. After searching I see no actual work on Avalon's at all, which surprizes me. I know it's not a true VIP platform and is FWD but after driving the big body its hard not to feel like a boss and with the luxury amenities it seems perfect for some VIP cues imo, I know others feel differently and that is ok. Work might be slow on tranforming my car since I am also trying to save up for a house as well but little by little I hope my car can end up being nicely done up.

I'm jealous lol. I wanted to Vipstyle the newer Avalon for a while but I couldn't get my funds together to purchase one. Good luck, I really want to see this thing done up.

I knows it an older generation, but I did attempt to build an 01' Avalon. I wanted to go a different route. Any Avalon stateside rarely gets built.

yeah, it was cool for its time. American "tuners" love fender arches like that.. they use to do them on everything and it got annoying and disrupts the flow of the car in which i think it killed the rest of the car.
I still think they should be rwd and drifted like the jzx

I'm a big fan of seeing modded cars that are out of the ordinary. The avalon for one can be done & it can look sick. Obviously with the right set of wheels & a good stance, anything can look good. It's all about execution. Not exactly vip, but here's something you can feed off of.

FIVE AXIS X5:D 20"+NITTO teku GEN 235/30/20,
Lowering kit 2inch down(for CAMRY),
OEM grille black Processing,
window and tail light tint, roof black paint
Here's a fucked up chop that i just did right now. VIP?, no. Clean? Hell yes.

The blue one is nice but imo they fender arches are way overdone I'm more of a fan of subtle fender pulls that look factory if you didn't know any better. The white one is hot with some camber and different color wheels it be money.. Now if only I can get some money aside to start working on it everything would be good. Looking into my wheel wells I have very little clearance on the inside but I have about 1 1/2 to 2" of space between my wheel and the outer fender so theres space to move outwards. Duno if the rears can be rolled they have some sort of rubber/glue running along the interior fender that I don't know can be removed, so cutting the part that is bent inwards instead of rolling the fender might be the best bet. And yes the backseat is ginormous I have more rear legroom than a LS460 (short wheelbase version) and I learned how nice all that legroom combined with reclining rear seats can be with proper company:giggity:

Do it do it do it! My sister used to drive a 1st gen Avalon. These cars were not well recieved in the modified car community haha. So hard to adjust for camber in them :(

Before I could get to it I realized rear camber was an issue on my gen 2. So was fitting anything larger than 8.5 wide in the rear.
