Which rims on the fab kits scion xb? feedback wanted...

Trying to judge how this looks, I think i like it please give me some feed back. 
this kit:

If i got the axis widetracks i get the middle painted to match the car. Its a little to bright for my taste but the lip is 120mm in the rear

As long as you get the same wheel fitment as the Fabulous bB. They are 18x8.5,9.5 +18 I believe. Can you get these sizes from Axis or Ararat?

BTW, are you going air or coilovers?

for real.. those are complete 'tuner' style rims... do A LOT of searching then post another thread.

I'm new to VIP stuff and am trying to learn.

If you think my choices blow stop being asses and suggest something proper.

I'm not sure what makes a tuner rim versus VIP, so I was trying to do my best. I am also looking at the Jline VIPrl2 but they are pretty expensive.

I just don't want to go with the works only because eveyones got em and i was to be origional. I know offset and fitment are two dynamics i need but am still looking for the style.

the Giovannas are more dub style and the Axis are more of a tuner wheel for the record.

that style of the jline is much much better for the vip look.

Well then as long as you know you'll need custom fitment and an insane drop, you're pretty much good to go. 

As for style, that's harder to teach because there's no book on it and everyone's got a different opinion. If you're wise (unlike myself lol), you can save yourself a lot of hassle by reading up on what some of the more experienced member here have to say about quality, construction, and design. Whatever you think is hot right now, you will def have a different opinion after a little bit of research and preferably some hands-on experience.

I vote for neither.
Check the Vip Brand database and other wheel/suspension threads for ideas on what is accepted in the Vip crowd.

Pretty much anything you see in Import Tuner right now is not. (not necessarily, but as a general rule based on current trends)

JLine isn't particularly expensive compared to Fabulous or Junction Produce, so I don't understand why you would skimp on the wheels but go to the trouble of buying a Fabulous kit.

The fabulous kit should cost me all of $1000 the Junction produce wheels cost $1000 each totall different ball park. The wheels alone would cost $4000 no tires no shipping no tax, so I dont think that by looking at a $700 Jline tire thats skimping by any means. 

Im not trying to get into argument with people just get some feedback I did a search on the site, and google but didn't find the Vip Brand database. Do you have a link on other sites that have articles on Vip?

if you're gonna put a fabuluous kit on your BB...either keep it fabulous...don't got for some off name brand product...i mean its your car do whatever you want...but if it was me shit i would spend the extra cash to rock the fab rims also...why not look at other rims brand too...i.e work,bbs,club linea,ssr...you know what i mean?

Start with reputable companies first off... not stuff you generally find on ebay, discount tire or the local rim shop (SoCal shutup).

AME, Work, Weds, etc are popular brands. Just check other cars fitment threads and look at what sorta brands they're using.

May I ask where you getting a legit Fabulous kit for 1000?    If you're not doing authentic stuff, please dont do it.  Read up and look at things on this site for a few hours.  Research what fitment you need, and what VIP is all about.  VIP is all about high end products for a luxurious and classy look.   Not a cheap and overdone look.     Look into the Euroline series by Work, look into the Vienna series by SSR, look into AME.   Yea it may cost a lot, but thats why it is VIP.    You gotta pay to play man .   I hate to break it to you, but going for cheap mods isnt going to cut it in this game.    Dont get new if you're limited by money like it sounds you would be.   Go for some nice second hand rims in a nice fitment (like I did).   Top end products are what you need to go for, and Axis and Giovanna WONT cut it.   Look for something similar to the Fabulous bB's fitment if you can.    Get the wheels down, put it on air or coilovers (springs alone wont cut it for VIP), and then worry about a legit authentic kit.   Thats what my recommendation is for ya.   Check out clubxb.com as most of us are over there too.    Dont cheap out if you're thinking about doing VIP though.   Figure for the basics for VIP, you're looking at a 5-6K dollar investment to get there after the price of the car.

Ask to get a pic of the front bumper without a plate on it.   Tell him to focus in on the area where the plate would go.   Also tell him to get a pic of the back of the bumper.  That way you can verify its a legit piece and not the crappy replicas all out there.

I am willing to do what it takes to get that look, and I realize that its gonna take more work than I initially planned. I am on clubxb as well as Darkness. I am more on Scionlife cause it seems to have more stuff going on there, local meets and such. I will look more into my Vip planning and was on those sites for the most part of lastnight. Oh, and about the fact the rims are more than the kit simply says the kit is a fake. I real Fabulous kit costs as much good rims to go with it. To get the right look, you will be droppin at least 1200 to 1900 dollars minus tires. Sad but true. VIP is payin to be playin. I'm just as broke as the next guy doing this outside of Cali. Yea fake.  Everyone says "Fab" kit and sees price of 400-800.  Thats because they have a copyright on the name "Fabulous" and cant be copying the name when making replica parts.  A real fab kit expect to be over 2K.    Dont go to Scionlife man.  All hate there.  If you ask stuff at clubxb, you're more prone to get the right answers (plus theres no VIP experts over there so to speak). The first rim Jim pictured is a Work LS105.  Pretty bad arse wheel.  Big dollar rim though.  Expect to pay for that shiz!  Its gonna be hard finding another set used (ive only seen one set stateside used for sale)

imo, FAB kits are only good for chopping up and making custom kits from.
What you're looking for (if you want Fabulous style) is a legitimate "Fabulous" kit, FAB is just a blatant knockoff. In fact the places that sell FAB actually steal photos from the Fabulous website to further misdirect people, it's a shady business and should be avoided.

A legitimate Fabulous kit for the xB is as I said only $1800 shipped (before taxes and installation) though, according to the site.

Wait a min!!!  What is bB select? chopped liver?? lol... Right about SL tho. If it ain't Fast and Furious looking, than it doesn't make sense to that site anymore. 


Anyway, do your homework and get waht you can afford in the proper sizes to complete the look you desire.

I think that instead of looking at new wheels, you should invest the time to look into used wheels with good fitment/ quality.  Plenty of members on this site can help you source some wheels.  And of course all of the normal second hand wheel shops on the net.  Honestly and I know this statement has become cliche but, buy your wheels and suspension and get them sorted before you even think about a kit.  

if your serious about a set of used wheels send Robert ({-.-})a pm. don't waste his time though lol.

Lol Jim I meant SL in my fury of typing has no VIP experts.  Heck Clubxb has all of them.  lol.   Heck bB select combined probably has more xB knowledge than all of the other boards combined!  :D   Btw, stickers are in the mail to me as we speak, and Ill mail them out to you guys from then.   We need a nationwide VIP meet like crazy though.

kaijyu, check out memory fab or takumi project for some used wheels. they usually have quality "vip" style wheels to chose from that would fit your application.

I guessed that was true. I noticed that from going to one honda civic meet and a whole bunch of subie meets. If you go to a forum that has tuners that are affordable like civic and scion they don't have respect and immature young kids.
More expensive cars have people that are nice, respectful and friendly. Basically more older mature adults/young adults are the way to go. they have manners.

To tell you the truth I never had a bad exprience with people from scionlife. I have made a few good friends and enjoy their company. This was one of the first posts I made on this site and I got alot of rude comments. People who think that they are so much better than me because I don't know what VIP is. 

Some wanted to bust my balls cause asked a question. Never had that happen there, people were pretty cool. I am on Club XB and never had any problems there either. Maybe  I just fell on some bad luck but the first couple responses to this thread made me think WTF! Is it that easy to be a complete ass to someone you don't even know. 

If you look at the first few posts you might ask your self where the older mature people with manners. Now in no way were all the people on here rude, some gave me some good pointers. I just want to enjoy what i do, don't need all the extra crap.

Yeah kind of true, some people just don't have the respect for people who are new and dont know that much about VIP Style. They should be helping new comers. But it is also a good thing to research on the thing before you post so these kind of things wont happen.
