Opinions on this inexpensive y33 aero kit

Okay so I have always been a huge advocate against replica and knock-off shit.  It's  not fair buying cheap things that is stolen intellectual property.  That hurts the people who are creative and deserve to reap the benefits.  Rep companies don't deserve it, and it only pushes the quality products out of the industry


But now I'm at the point in my life where buying a legit aero kit would just be irresponsible, as my family comes first, and getting my business off the ground comes second.  Secondly, I drive my cars static and really really low to the ground. It's just my style, some won't agree but I take pride in it and it brings me joy.  Im happy for now with my oem bumpers but I just cant help but LOVE what aero does to these cars.  I have no intention of buying a real kit at this point in my life, so I dont see buying a rep as them losing money (although I still see the wrong) and when I [I][I]can[/I][/I] afford the real deal I always do and plan to in the future. 

Right  now I'm thinking of buying a knock off kit, for those reasons.  My family/career, I drive low so if I bust a bumper its not the end of the world, and the fact that I do respect the real deal and will support them when I can.  And I damn sure wouldnt try to pass it off as authentic, as that is the lowest of lows. I also have some plans drawn out on how Im gonna mod this bumper and pretty much transform the look, which would be silly on a real kit. I know people will say that I don't need to mod my car especially if I have financial issues etc. I dont, I stay on top of my shit but from saving for my kids and investing my money I am not sitting on cash lol, but my car is the one thing I do for myself and only myself. I mod my car for me and I always give myself a little time and allowance since it keeps me level headed and sane.  If a knock off kit makes me happy and I'm buying it for the right reasons, is it really all that bad?  Discuss

BTW the kit I'm thinking of buying is on ebay. I wont link it and I'm for sure not showing my support of reps but it doesnt look like a bad deal for what it is.  Search "y33 cima aero kit"  Please check it out and give me your thoughts on it

Best bet. Go jdm front bumper and lip it. Or find the jdm bumper that's gt spec that already has lip spoiler.

Don't get a kit if you'r not willing to life with the consequences... paying a lot for something that you'll fuck up and repair/-paint every few months. Battle scars are ok, faking the funk is not... Of coarse people do as they see fit, but a kit like wheels is a defining mod, so knock-offs cheapens the whole car in essence.

Everyone tells me that the legit Aimgain kits dont fit very well and have to be fitted to the car.

don't waste your money on fake stuff.   Buy once cry once... work on the business and make the money and then build the car with the right parts.   However if you are the type to drive super low everywhere I don't suggest any kit since they will all be destroyed and look like shit.

Buy knock off, mod to your liking.

The more new people in the scene. the more rep parts are floating around. 

Just know if you get a rep kit. dont claim it as real. people will roast and it looks bad.

Im probably going to buy the kit and rock it for a bit and ill rock it as a rep proudly lol. well not proudly but I wont hide the fact its a rep. the cars only my dd for another year or so hopefully it will last. after that Ill get a legit kit and keep it static and crazy low like vip cars in japan.  something about that that I love.  since it wont be my dd I wont mind driving it stupid low and being super careful. I assume thats what the guys in japan do with their crazy static drops. that screams real vip to me

With true platforms becoming more and more affordable for kids, I'm really surprised theres not a bigger market for replica kits tho.  Especially since s-chassis guys etc. go vip a lot and we know how they can destroy kits and often try to cheap out

you most likely would still need to get JDM bumpers to fit these lips but that kit is pretty damn cheap...

best bet I would say is go with 33flavors suggestion of the jdm bumper with a lip kit...Best of both worlds, gives you modified look for a reasonable price and most importantly its not a knockoff.
For me I'd say just do you do whatever is in your means and prioritize your finances. Not every build has to be a top notch cover spread magazine ride. However I do believe in not cutting corners/buying knock off parts when it legitimately effects your car ie: suspension, wheels, and engine modifications etc...but fiberglass kits not so much...but hey what do I know:shrug:
