aggressive fitments for q45/cima

i've been on club lexus for over 6 years currently about to sell my favorite car ever; 05 LS430UL.

i got orders to go back to japan and am eyeing a nice 04 cima/q45 to get next month.

i had a new pair of vip modular vr01's on the way but just canceled them and will order a new pair sized appropriately for the cima when i get there, but i wanted to know if anyone was running 21's or 22's and how they looked. i'm a vip fanatic but have been told the y50 (or is it F50¿; used to own a pimp ass y33 gloria last time i was out there) is such a big chasis that 21's don't look out of aspect ratio.

just searched on this site for about 30 mins and only found a few decent specs on rimTuck i'm wondering what is a fairly aggressive range one can do with only rolling fronts and shaving rears, or with shaved and a mild mild pull all the way around, on air susp of course?? looking at something around these specs but just wanted to get some real world feedback.

i want to drive with no more than 1" tire showing BTW and don't want to add any negative camber at all. ( i gots madd love for my tires :D)

yeah i can read that, thanks lamsv... i guess that means they welded on new fenders and painted them?? if so then i guess i will have to go a step less aggressive cuz i don't wanna get into high $$ on a car i may not keep so long.

air susp + max out factory camber + mild stretched tire + shaved and mild pull of fenders = how much max camber on a 20" set of wheels for the q45?

i wonder if i could get away with a 20x11 +14 (5" lip considering a a 5mm backpad) on a 275x30x20 with just rear shave and mild pull..
and for front a 20x9.5 +23 (3.5" lip w/ 15mm backpad) on a 225x35x20.... i already have these brand new tires in this size is why i ask, also.

BTW what is the back pad clearance needed to make it over the front and rear brake caliper? on my LS430 a 5mm backpad is all you needed in the rear.

they didnt weld anything but they basically pulled it to the max and the fenders got wavy so they reworked it afterwards

cool, thanks for the info. i'm still thinking a fender re-work would be $$. i guess now the question remains if i could get away with a 20x11 +14 (5" lip considering a a 5mm backpad) on a 275x30x20 with just rear shave and mild pull, or play it safe and just stick with the 4.5" rear lips, ceteris parabus¿

I reconsider the rear tire for a 265 30 or 255 35.

Also if you need rear camber

thanks, yeah i thought someone may say this,, i guess i shall return my 275x30x20's in favor of some 265x30x20's. i only had the 275's cuz of what i was gonna put on my LS430 but now it seems like i get another pallat to work on =)

i'll consider camber at a later point once i see what kind of commute i will have and especially if its not an only car then i will heavily consider it. i drive about 500 miles a week right now in my LS430 as a DD and was going through tires too quick so i had to reduce my current negative camber and won't ever do more camber if i'm driving 500 miles a week again...

I say go with a conservative wheel setup. Something with a lot of face and not a whole lot of lip. and just tuck a bitch. go with the 20s. Something with a lot of detail in the face maybe even a stepped lip. You dont need a lot of lip to have a great vip ride either. Some times I wish I went with that instead of the route I am going with my f50 which is more lip than Jay Z and Angalina lol.

Case in point:

i hear what your saying about not needing the biggest lips, and i fully respect and follow the fact that vip should just be clean and luxurious, kinda not felling the crazy bizare aggressive ass stuff that a lot of folks do. but i guess there is a style for everyone isn't there¿

BTW its nice to be on this forum and actually using it now. like i said i was solely on Club Lex for the last 6 or so years and consider this site as more a step up or a broadening of my horizon :D

what do you think about my next car...

13,500 with the exchange rate... ^ ^ ^ and only 33k miles...

this is what my LS430 looked like about 6 weeks ago before i just sold the wheels and now am gettign rid of the car altogether. guess i will be buying the next car in early june. i may just get a little convertible or something to cruise around in until i find the perfect VIP car to mod instead of just picking up the first vip car taht looks like a good match. if i get it shipped from mainland i can find a presidente or soverign edition which is my aim ^

All day ayy day. U think that was a coinsidence? :D

My last car had a body kit and so will my next, but this one, this one can park where I live at now at least right up on the curb. I actually measured the coilover height based off the massive speed hump in my present neighborhood that is unavoidable. I have to take it at like .5 mph and I brarely sscrape even when its just me in the car. I want to go lower but cant do it unless I get air since I have a massive speed hump before my spot.

My memory is very bad but the LXZ are 20x10 +16 Hi Disk FF face? and the rear is around 20x10.5 +19 and medium disk FR face?? the widths are correct but the offsets and disk size were a ballpark. I can't remember for the life of me.
