Just picked up a 00 Q45T
what up guys names andy. located in the northwest here not much of a vip scene out here, but ive always liked the style of cars. recently picked up a 00 Q45T black/black. overpaid a little but i waited months for a black/black color combo and had to get it it when i finally found one.
used to be in the honda game so jumping into a Q45 made me feel like a baller even in stock form lol. so far plans for the Q are to just to do a static drop and some wheels. ive read through the s14/s13 suspension swap for these cars but i couldnt really come out with a clear advantage to doing the swap. can anyone give me a clear cut answer as to why its better vs bolting on q45 coilovers. anyways just wanted to introduce my self.

ohh no way is that the cb750? man those bikes are siick ive wanted one for a while but i can never afford it lol but yea static for now and get some wheels. car has potential just gotta make it happen

yea 81 cb750 there pretty cheap can be had for around $1000 and still fast for what it is.

welcome. im a little new too. but I have read about the suspension swap, because before it was really hard to find coilovers for a y33 platform. s14 coilovers you can find anywhere, our rear suspension is all s14 interchangeable. fronts, you would have to buy hubs, arms, etc. to answer your question, y33 coilovers are a little easier to find. if you don't want to weld, megan and BC makes them with spindles. if you don't care, poweredbymax has some as well. BC coilovers gives you the option of what spring rate to run, but has a 3 week turnaround. which isn't bad. but if I am wrong with anything I have said, someone correct me. i am still learning as well.

So before the main advantage was that it was a lot easier to find s chassis coilovers. But now a days there seems to be a good amount of suppliers that make y33 specific coilovers. There is no real advantage other than easier to find the parts?

People were doing the swap because there weren't many readily available bolt-on coilovers for our car then. Thats why I did it.

i too came from owning a CD (in my case CE, wagon), to a big body sedan. welcome and the Q is looking clean.
