+2kg/mm Swift Springs for BC Racing Coilovers?

Hi all, I tried searching but couldn't find specific information. I am thinking about increasing the spring rates on my BC Racing coilovers for my 2006 Nissan Maxima and would like to use Swift springs. I got the normal spec coilovers and according to BC the spring part numbers front and rear are 62-180-6 and 62-160-7, which I'm assuming is a 62mm inner diameter, 180 and 160mm lengths, and 6 and 7kg/mm. I have a few questions regarding which springs and rates to choose.

Assuming those spring specs are correct, should I go with 65mm ID Swift springs in 7" and 6" lengths? What about the excess 3mm ID, is it small enough to be negligible? As far as spring rates go, I know the general rule of thumb is not to go higher than +2kg/mm, but I think I'd like to go +3. Will the effect of +3 be THAT bad of a combination with the current valving or should I just stick to +2?

i went +4 kg/mm in the front of my Q45 and it still rides fine, but the Q is a much heavier car. i think you'll be find going +3

Yeah, hopefully he chimes in, it'd be nice to have it in the open for other people since I searched and couldn't find any info. I'm looking forward to progress too, but in all honesty I'm slower than a snail lol.

you have a good grasp of what's going on. the 65 are fine and your measuments are correct. i think +3 will probably be ok, however real world difference between +3 and +2 is marginal.
 
price on the swift upgrade will be about $350.

Yeah, I tried to find out as much as I could before asking anything. I understand what you mean about the marginal difference between +2 and +3, I'd just like to increase the rates as much as possible without a revalve since my BC's are still young. If you can PM me a quote on the springs shipped to 94551 that'd be great, I believe the part numbers are Z65-178-090 and Z65-152-100.

Never knew they made those rates always thought it was an even number.  I was always told yo can either go +2kg -2kg.  But as you mention 3kg shouldn't be THAT bad.

i have 10kg front and rear on my megan coils....which originally had 8/7. wish i woulda went stiffer tho lol

i wanna do an upgrade to mine as well.

I didn't really know until I looked at their applications sheet. And using an odd number will probably bother me even though my normal rates were 6 and 7 lol, but I figure I should at least keep the 1kg difference.

Yeah, just gotta keep increasing until you find that magic number. Too bad it's not as easy as the damping.

Your rates must be double mine, at the very least lol.

20/18, but the front feels soft.  might be worth revalving on your end depending on how stiff you need it

i'm happy with 10s up front. i just need stiffer in the rear cuz my tire is so close to the fender wells on the inside so it rubs when i hit small bumps/dips lol

I'm nowhere near as low or flush as you, so I don't think I'll need it that stiff, but I guess I really won't know until I try the 9/10.

One thing I'm trying to combat is the rear sag, the rear drops too much when any weight is added. Increasing to 10 might not make a huge difference, but at least it'll be a step in the right direction.

the increase im at is not a huge noticeable difference....had i had a chance to feel it, i woulda went stiffer.
