Y50 with aero side skirts

I need some help with pics 
 
I replaced the oem side skirts with the oem aero side skirts on my 2006 M45.
 
I was thinking of getting the 10pc white puddle set (5 on each side) with the black finish.
 
I need to see how are they installed (on skirt or on mounts) because nothing looks even.
 
I would like to see how others installed them with the aero side skirt.
 
If I can't get the lights perfectly even I just won't install them. :sad:

I was told that lights will not come out even by using the side skirt. Just about the middle of the rear door the skirt is not the same.  Last 2 lights would be a problem (no room on skirt). 
 
I have done alot of searching and alot of people (different cars) are installing these wrong, some are not straight and most have it that you can see the light pod mounted under the car.
 
Thats why I asked for pics, I have found only a few M's that have the pupple lights installed. None have good pics too see.

heres what i did... not the exact "puddle" light but i did water proof LED strips just under the doors not the whole skirt. double sided tape is how they are mounted. i did something close to the on my R6 (mounted for 7-8 months and no problems) and the idea just kinda came to me the other night. they are wired into the door seal lights. they DO NOT light up when you unlock the car ONLY when a door is opened. this is a mock up pic but the wires are ran inside the side skirt.

idk if thats your "style" or what your looking for but it's always an option

That was my 2nd choice i was looking into last night. I found a smd led strip that is 1m long with 60 leds (about 39"). It comes in some kind of case that is waterproof, won't crack or turn yellow. BUT it doesn't come with 3M tape, I would have to get a roll from the body shop.
 
I'll be tapping in to the foot light on top of the brake. I want them to come on with the keyfob (lights go on before you get to the car).
 
How long are the stripes that your using? How many leds in each strip?

names Abe by the way lol mine are prolly 22-24in with 24 HP LEDs. the strips i have came with a thick clear coating. like i said i ran these on my R6 for 8-9months and never had any issues @ all. if i had to guess after i stick them on they MAYBE  are5-7mm off the sideskirt and have the look under the car to see them...

hey, here i s a pic of my puddle lights on.. they done seem too look uneven. ill try to get a pic from under there soon, i had to run out of town so my buddy installed them while i was gone, came out pretty legit imo

Are your pods on the skirt or on the holders included with the kit? 
 
If you stand back 20ft can you see the pods (on or off)?
 
A few pics from the under-side would be great.

dude you can scoop those from auto zone for like 30 bucks lol i have all the pics and can do a write up of how i installed mine if you go this route

You have some much room under your skirt, my aero skirt maybe has 3/4" lip up to just about the first part of the rear door. Then it start to move outside to the end with less lip. it doesn't have a staight lip.
 
I think I may go with a 47" strip on each side that has 1 led every inch. I may order the strips on Monday. Once they come in I can see what can be done.

I finished the courtesy lights today.

I installed 1 39" strip with 60 leds on each side of the car.

They turn on with the alarm fob or when you open the door.

It came out great, all staight with an even glow.

It came out really good and it's so bright that you can see the glow on the ground even during the day.
