Uh...it's not a spam, I just ordered a set and am posting in forums that I have memberships to.... Just want to share the good news to everyone.

Yes, the website is live and that's how I found out about it through Facebook and bought a set.

It is going on a 3rd gen GS

First of all, cup kit is not completely sealed. It is metal on metal...The whole point is to drive slam and be able to air up when you want to. Who wants to drive at a stock height for an extended period of time? Cup kit will never fail on the road, even if it all the air leaked out, you won't be stranded on the road, because car will just sit on your coilovers. Air bags have the possibility of the rubber bag puncturing... I never want to be stranded on the road with a slammed VIP. Just saying...=)

I wish I can afford a Phantom cup kit! That will solve all my problems for me, especially the 11 speed bumps I have to negotiate every time I go in/out of my home.

I think it is available in just front kit. IF you are having trouble with speed bumps, getting the fronts will solve your problem

i noticed the increase in hype lately, checked out the freshly launched site, and couldn't help but laugh to myself. their "lifetime warranty" no longer covers seals ($250 service) or fittings, and the compressor is covered by manufacturer warranty. they have also switched to an off the shelf tank and retracted their "made to be driven on inflated" policy. somewhere in all that they managed to raise the price significantly. great product i'm sure, but meh.

OG I'll take some high quality pics of the cups I'm getting made... They are pretty expensive but I wanted to try it out. I'm NOT buying from platinum though but rather a custom set from another source. I know you are against Megans but they are being made to fit the megan and I'm think it should probably fit the BC as well. The guy who builds these told me this will be "version 3" but we will see...

from what he tells me it is best to ride WITH some air in it.

did he elaborate on why?

honestly if i can't offer umbrella again soon, which i consider to be the best if for no reason other than value, then i will do what it takes to get on with roberuta. they just seem to be the most dependable as far as sourcing and obviously have they the reputation behind them.

cups really are the way to go regardless of where you get them from, quality goes without saying, and it sucks that i've been stuck on the sidelines.

I think it had to do with the air in the cup being used as a spring at the same time as the regular coil springs. Something like that.. I'll take some pics. Umbrella was just too expensive and Platinum just doesn't have a good reputation.

so let me chime in.... Hi everyone, I'm Chris.... I've been working with the Phantom Cup Kit for years now as far as R&D, Marketing, Application List, Installs, etc.

A lot of things everyone just do not understand, the cups are ment as an assistance to your coilovers allowing you to air up to achieve going over bumps, into driveways, etc.

No cup company recommends driving aired up due to the fact that your wear out the internals quicker. Keep in mind that the Phantom Cup Kit uses another cup as an internal component versus a metal plate.

Why our system offers a limited lifetime warranty? Structually the cups are made out of Aero space 60-61 T6 heat treated billet aluminum, there's no wear and tear about that. But our seals are rubber. The seals are a wear & tear item that will wear itself out overtime. Compressor is a 1 year warranty and through ViAir since they make it.

A reason why we use a bigger generic tank versus our double stack aluminum tank? To cut costs down so that consumers can afford the system. Custom tanks are available for an additional cost.

I personally have the Phantom Cup Kit on my 2GS (front only), I've had it on since late 2009 and drive with air and without. I have had no problems except for the barb switches we used to use from firestone. We noticed that those were not of quality and we updated it to Japan made paddle valve switches.

And as far as these rumors are going.....

@ Blitz : Our system did leak on a small few kits, thats why we change internals.... but majority of the leaks are all from switches or gauges or cause of bad fittings, which we do not have control over so thats why we changed it up a bit.

And if you guys want a background on some of these newer companies doing the cup kit....

1st off, AutoGear.... they were the guys that cut some cups for us when we first started then they jocked our whole design/blueprint to release their own.

Secondly, Exotic Air... havent seen their product yet but I remember a customer of ours selling his 3GS (cups on a full airbag setup) to some guys in NorCal and surprisingly now there is a cup suspension "manufactured" in Northern California.

Not talking trash talking just stating the obvious.

any questions, comments, flaming, trash talking, you can PM me or email me at platinumvipchris@gmail.com
