UCF11 in OK - new to ls

howdy VSC! benzo here
finally moved into the correct platform ive been wanting and got a great deal on it!
for a few years i had me a little daily drifter that went through many stages

then i found out i was having a kid so i sold that and my stock SC400 and got this ugly wagon to pay some bills and upgrade our living arragements

so i dropped it and put on the first set of wheels i could find with a lip that would fit

then i had the kid and now im trying to move onto something a little more legit

just now is climbing over the 125k mark and i got it for $1700 :biggthumpup:
it has a couple small stuff i need to address but everything works great overall
once shes all good - tint, exhaust, wheels, drop, paint

Woohoo! Another UCF10/11! I love the 1st gen LS cuz its is a platform car but dificult to make look straight dope. That to me means its the perfict beginner's VIP car.

hoping to get a 19/20 or 20 all around setup new but i really want something that stands out so i might opt to either get something local used or might take a stab at using importmonster 
some bc coils probably so i can get on the FLO'
cant decide on a gold or midnight purple for colors
cant wait to get my VSC decals on =]

maybe i should just go ahead and order my bc's and get a cheap oem set for now

nothing major yet..got 15% all around and some temp throw on wheels. 225/35/20 all around
was thinking about getting some interior stuff but im thinking ill probably just save and get my bcs next month along with getting my exhaust fabbed together.
then after i get low ill probably get started on the body work and upgrade the wheels

I JUST GOT THRU MY FIRST WEEK WITH MY BCS AND THERE GREAT BRO I DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMEND THEM AND GOOD LUCK WITH CAR BUILD

i hate these wheels, especially stock ride height but they will do for now until i can flip them and upgrade
im trying to decide on what specs i wana run.
seems pretty doable to run a 20x10 setup all around as long as the rears poke more
i wish i knew the minimum and maximum width/offset ratios fit without spacers like i do s13's

What kind of spring rates are you gonna go for?

thats a REALLY good question! i wish i could get some good input since im new to the LS platform
i see guys going with crazy high spring rates but my s13 was super rigid on my 13/11 setup. which was great for drifting but not comfortable how id imagine a vip car to be.
but i feel like getting an 8/6 combo would be too pink meated of me...

if anyone reading this has any input/experince lmk
ive done alot of searching but havent really found any opinions from both sides

just a shot in the dark..but your user name isn't the same person as okstance.com? regardless I am interested in seeing if you know anyone in that area that can refinish wheels? (I Live in KS but willing to drive down or ship to get it finish....be cheaper than shipping my wheels to the coast and eating a ton) LMK!!!!

I personally would not doing anything bigger than 19's on the UCF10.... I'm running 19's and it seems like I am one of the few....most people run 18's on these cars

looks good so far, i would of kept the stock wheels personally and just lowered it that way

my fitment is 19x9.5 and 19x11

i wouldnt mind running a 19 front and 20 rears to tuck them nice and tight ^_^

working on getting a new setup-maybe 18s/19ss then getting some bc's or PBM's

the works i was looking at fell through =/ they sold them the day after they were SUPPOSED to send an invoice..ugh

i hope you guys can forgive me not having any updates on my car yet! i have a good reason though!
my wife has been dragging ass with our old 98tl falling apart on us and i figured it was time to get her into something nicer
so now i have two projects instead of one so hopefully i can make this into a fun chick car! only a simple drop and wheels for her though
it feels pretty nice upgrading the both of us ^_^ we gotta hella good deal on both cars. 
hopefully i can find a stock front bumper and lip to trade though - and hopefully the VSC stickers i ordered last month come in!

Ive seen this car driving around ...Please get rid of that kit asap and get the stock bumpers on lol no offense ...also did you paint the wheels purple??? shoulda kept the chrome ...just some constructive critisism! good platform with plenty of potential!

were trying to sell it because of the high miles and because i hate the kit that came with it. cheap pos fiberglass.

wouldn't runnin 15% tint get you pulled over? last time i had 20% on my civic here in wichita and i got pulled over twice with tickets. since i didnt wanna deal with that bullshit i got 35% on my ls.

man i dont have any idea. i did my tint in okc and i never even got hassled there with 5%
so i hope no one notices since my car is already dark
just sucks i cant afford to mod my car until my wife starts working
we might just sell/trade her car and get something with less miles

looking to order some BC's this weekend...would a 18/16 spring rate be an aggressive enough spring to tuck some 19s?

my toe was so fucked up on my car after putting the extreme lows on that I chewed through the insides on all the tires on these so now im just guna try to sell them for 800 locally without tires..riding on some 17s with stock tires for now...scary but still looks mmkay haha

shaved rears. front still have fender liner in...time to tuck exhaust then rim!

and with regards to tucking visit a exhaust shop that can do custom work and as u want it above the chassis rails

hard to tell from this angle but the angle of the photo looks like it sinks in? can you take pics of it straight on?

yessir its just a tiny sunk so that's why im debating techniques...1. tuck-- 2. space/flush/poke-- 3. space/pull/tuck

some small updates...finished painting most it satin black and getting the wheels painted a golden bronze!
dont know what to do next..hopefully some aftermarket clear corners and tail lights

well i sadly had some tickets come up and had to trade my wheels for some cheapos and some cash...but they will due for now
kinda reminds me of an oem+ style almost if you consider these came with BBS from factory sometimes..plus the finish flows well with the chrome trim thats left
