Y34 M45 fuel guage recall

i dont know how many of you got the recall for the fuel guage problem our cars have, but i took mine to the dealer to get it fixed today, and they replaced the whole cluster, it works fine now, but there is one problem, the new cluster they used does not fit flush to rest of console, not like the OEM one, theres gaps on the sides and bottom, it looks like they got it to fit as best as possible but not an oem fit :(

i dont know if i should go back and ask for a different one or what?
i know after a while i wont even notice it but still.....
any suggestions??

do what? the recall does not replace the entire cluster.....just the back half with an added sub-amp and a sub-harness. i had my cluster replaced before the recall was official (was a guinea pig for research) and its a direct fit. maybe they didnt put the bezel back in correctly?

....this is coming from an infiniti technician lol

the entire cluster replaced, huh:shrug: sorry to hear that they didnt put it back together correctly. You are the first to report an issue after the recall work was completed. I received my letter and it stated that they would put an amplifier of some sort on the back to keep it from heating up or something to that affect. <-- not exactly verbatim:shrug: Take it back and show them the problem. keep us posted

yes, its a campaign. go to your nearest dealer to get it done free of charge.

Had mine done as well. Took a few hours with an oil change and everything looks fine on mine as well. there was a part they needed to order but yeah it's a recall and you don't Need your recall notice just schedule your appointment and take it in.

hey guys i took it back and they corrected the problem, the tech did not put the cluster in correctly, theres still a little gap around the whole cluster but deffinately looks better than the first time.

do all of you clusters sit flush againt the dash?
he showed me another car and it felt the same as mine but idk if that one was tampered with already or not

Got mines fixed today for free and my airbag light as wrll! Finally I get to see my true gas milages!

mine has no gaps around the finisher or cluster

I'm averaging about 18.8mpg....but I'm 80% town driving. About 2 mile drive to work. Seem about average for everyone else? About 22 on highway
