another y34 on air?
so yeah....i'm thinkin bout doing air now. :pat: can't resist it anymore. i'll be keeping my megan coils, so i'll be using UAS aero sport bags....and not sure if i can use the universal strut type bag mounts or if i have to use the threaded bag mounts for megan coils. then comes on what to do about management. lol still undecided. def want something digital with presets, not looking to do the e-level route. feel free to post suggestions or parts for sale =)

Biggest issue with universal brackets is that without properly securing it or welding to strut body, you stand a chance that the bag could rotate and snap your lines or at most, chew up your tires. I would suggest the threaded mounts. Makes for a cleaner and much more stable installation over megan coilovers.

Unless UA came up with a kit for the Y34, I wouldn't.....had nothing but problems with mine so got rid of it and never looked back.

we make threaded mounts for megans..
The airrex wireless air management is a good simple set up to install... best thing you dont have to cut any holes in your dash to run switches or guages..
Here is the management in action

hit up autofashion if you want to order the mounts or airrex

Running UA over the stock suspension wasnt the best setup for the y34. I recognized that once I decided to go air on my y34.
The second issue was running the UAS air house bags on the y34 rear suspension setup (coilovers or not). Not the greatest.
Thats why i went the y33 route on my y34 coilover setup to accomodate using the aerosport bags all round.
It can be done, but it all boils down on how you pick and set up your suspension components from the start.

yeah, i feel ya eyedea. i wasnt planning on doing air....but the mod bug bites harder and harder lol.
i like the threaded mounts, just not the price compared to the universal ones....just to be threaded haha. but if i gotta have em, i gotta have em.
still seein what my options are as far as air management. i like the airrex kit and wireless controls, not the price. lookin at an easy street autopilot kit. who all sells an affordable but good quality setup?

If i were you, here is what i would do.
1. Mod the rear sus to y33 and Z32 mounts. Eliminate coilover springs
2. Buy The UAS bags + threaded mounts
3. Purchase air management of choice, preferrably all in one preconfigured "box"
4. Install yourself. Money you save here, will pay off the above.

eyedea, i'm already on megan y33 coils =) and i do all the work myself. working at the infiniti dealership and having some "know-how" has it's perks
i know im getting the UAS aero sport bags and threaded bag mounts. my thing is seeing what all "ready-to-go" AMS there are?
and its not so much about going lower...although i'm pretty much maxed out in the rear. i just wanna be able to park hard on my tires, and just to...well.....have air

^can't believe that's nearly maxed out. I still have about 3" more adjustment w/ PBM...
I want a cup kit so I can ride the height I'm at and go lower when I park =/

Cup kit would be my only "air" option I'd want. But they all seem way out of my current budget.

Lol remember im on 20s and megan coils. Im sure the pbm sleeves allow more adjustment. Cup kit would be nice but def too much for my blood lol

AirREX has a kit for the Y34 .. its not n the list but we will update it.
cutting the OEM strut off and welding on the new strut sleeve is what you have to do.. same thing like the Y33

Will ua aerosport bags work with the y33 true type coilover in the rear and not rub on anything aired out

uas will not rub on y33/y34/f50/etc. front suspension because there is no fuca. really the only cars with issues major clearance issues afaik is the 2gs. I had to trim a bit on the y33 rear, but y34/f50 is a different rear suspension.
