Hyundai Genesis Sedan VIP Style 1st one state side

Hey guys,

Here is a picture of my Hyundai Genesis Sedan VIP style 1st one state side. Still have some work to do. Let me know what you think. Just got the coilovers on this weekend. Need to get new tires in the front. 

wheel specs:
Work Varianza Schwert sc3

20x9 +9 225-30-20 (going to run 225-35-20 or 235-35-20 in the front)
20x 10 +17 245-30-20

also going to get better pictures later.

what brand is actually shipping coilovers for this application?  Did they finally come out of the R&D stage?

Megan Racing came out of the R&D stage and they are ready to order. I got the 1st production one off the line. I've been waiting a year for coilovers to come out for this car. I tried to order 4 different ones from different companies. I have had these wheels for sometime now. I bought them off of this website.

nice.  how do they ride?  best set up out of the 4 so far?

They ride pretty good. Its the only set up out of the 4. All the other companies backed out of the R&D. There is a company in Korea who sells the set but they are over priced and I didn't trust them.

I mean have you seen any VIP style Genesis sedans in the USA? anyones that have a crazy offset and very low?

Yes I have there was one in SoCal back in 09 that was prototyping alot of parts, like the ARK coilovers, magnaflow exhaust etc but he has dropped out of the scene.

i'm sure everyone has seen that car... i dont see it as being a VIP (or styled) car....

Since I am new to the VIP thing, I'm curious why you don't think it's a VIP styled car?  Only thing different between thaw black one and the OP's is ride height unless I'm missing something.  Thanks in advance.  I'm about 6 months out from starting my build on my Gen Sedan so that's why I'm so curious.

Personally i think the car didn't pull off the look well. With that offset he needed to be slammed. Idk if he didn't go lower because of the ARK coilovers or what not. Just doesn't do it for me.

lowered on wheels does NOT a VIP car make.  This is a great start and should end up much more VIP than the one on the genisisowners forum

Agreed - great start! Can't wait to see the completed version.
That one on Genesisowners is nowhere near VIP or 'styled'. Can't even begin to claim VIP-anything until you're tucking tire at the very least. That guy streched those tires for no reason.

Yes I shouldn't have put VIP Style on the title because its not. I'm trying to get this as close to VIP Style as I can to my liking. There isn't that many options out for the Hyundai Genesis sedan just yet. It is a work in progress and I'm trying to do this the right way. With your guys help i'm sure I can have one of the nicest Genesis sedans out there if not the nicest one. I did just order some Bellezza Tan curtains and I'm looking to get the window visors. Just little stuff right now until more options come out.

Ur in the same boat as I am, Not alot of support for the Hyundai but my Sonata is getting there

Coming along nicely man! Any support on body kit yet?? Your car sits proper man!

If not just custom fit one. Most are made of fiberglass which is easy as shit to modify.

I haven't really seen any body kits i like that much. And really isn't a market for them either. Would have to be custom made. Anyone seen any nice clean body kits out there?

Luvin the genesis sedan! I think it's one of the best asian sedans out right now. the new lexus styles don't deliver the VIP sedan look.

Not the first but u do have the second best hyundai ive seen. Saw a complete genesis wit big front mount inter cooler too. Saw it at the ocean city car show last year and it was slammed with a kit tuckin and slightly pokin, i think it wad silver. I normally dont like hyundais and feel they are ripping off toyota and lexs styling and features.

Btw u put dc but u live in nova, sorta corny.

sorry when I made this account i lived in DC... now i live in NOVA... let me fix that... sorry if that bugged any of you... and the car your talking about in OC was the EQUUS not a Genesis.

Equus huh?  well then you officially have the title of my fav genesis then  ;)  not that this means anything to you, but to me, well i'm usually not partial to hyundais but your's definitely looks killer with the mods you've done to it.

Future plans... I'm thinking very hard over the winter time to see what direction i want to take this..

Glad to see someone moving in the right direction with the Genesis. Most of the guys over at genesisowners are not interested in modifying the car other than rebadging and bolt-ons. Not many aftermarket items available for our car yet. Personally waiting on an air ride kit from a reputable company.

IMO I think you should upgrade to the new Genesis headlights. Just a thought.

Agreed.  The 12' headlight is definitely the way to go. That is one of the first things I am looking to do. Although you could shell out more cash and get the Prada headlights but they are not for me. To each his own.

So its been a very long winter here in northern virginia. I dropeed off my Works to get refinished because I bought them used and had so marks on it. Want them to be perfect for this spring / summer. Also been thinking about Plasti Dipping my car a Matte color. What do you guys think? Don't want to do Matte Black or Matte White. Would like to do something different. Any ideas from the fellow VSC? Thanks for your help guys.

Hmmm that's a tough one... only nice different color matte wrap (?) that comes to mind was the Five Axis GS from few years back. I really digg the overall execution of this one:

lol the amount of times i lol @ people calling their car "VIP" amazes me a 4 door lowered on rims and hellaflush fitment on a stock kit is "USDM" nowhere near VIP lol

There's a local car crew that claims to be VIP, but they all drive lowered coupes with aggressive fitment wheels.

Its been a while but looking to get some new wheels. What do you think I should do VSC???

I'm by no means educated fully here yet but it looks like you're going in the right direction. IMHO I don't think the wheels are the issue as much as bringing the arches out, at least enough to lose the factory swage around the front and back arches and take her down a bit further. Cleaning up the lines making her look sleeker and smoother which will make the wholle car look bigger/longer. I might be wrong

are you talking about removing the factory fender lines around the arches? please don't, that's a terrible look.

My head is still stuck in the 90's in a lot of ways so I bow to your greater knowledge. Just thought maybe bring the rear arch out a little to and lose the rubbing strips, in my minds eye I thought the front fender you could even add metal to make it follow the radius of the wheel a little better?
