Shortened strut + more bag pressure = stiffer ride???
My fronts are 5 clicks from full stiff with 75 psi in the bags and I still rub at ride height.
I'm wondering if I shorten the struts (spin up the bottom portion) I'll have to add air pressure to the bags to get the same ride height. Will it ride stiffer, so less rubbing or no?

your bags should run stiffer with more air in there. 75psi is a lot though and should be pretty stiff already, you sure you're aired up at 75psi?

you gotta be at 100-120 - i know this is what philly runs @ at his drive height - im at like 100 - i should be at that after it comes out

you guys sure you're running that high of psi? too me after 55psi its stiff as hell. I've held my valves open before and to reach 100psi it takes FOREVER..... I drive at around 40psi all around. I could do 35psi but gets abit bouncy.

40 psi will barely give me lift - 40 psi my car is still on the ground - lol

Well I couldn't even roll under 30psi, 60-80psi to cruise and 80-140psi for highways/hard driving. Full lift @ 160psi's, D2 bag kit 2-way setup on a 3800lbs Aristo.

yes, lowering the coils will require more psi to achieve the same ride height. this will make the ride stiffer and less likely to rub. most bag setups i do i set up around 100psi for a near coilover like ride quality, and whenever possible i have the dampers valved appropriately. the job of the damper, and the function of the adjustment knob, is to dissipate the energy created by driving/road conditions; not so much to change the ride characteristics. that is the job of the springs/bags/sway bars. the shocks should be valved to the spring/bag for the best ride quality which is a guessing game when it comes to air since there is no conversion. it should also be noted that most bags max psi rating is ~100psi. seems like as cats are catching on they are adapting their existing set ups and pushing the limits of the psi rating to have a stiff low ride height with little to no lift. seems like a waste of time and money imo. if you're that low and that stiff, and have no lift... why do you have air again?

i guess it also depends too on everyone's setups. pressure switches can have an effect on this too, tanks with higher airpressure when filled can raise an aerosport bag a lot more than a tank with lower "full" pressure. a friend of mine who switched out his switch to a lower one can't fully inflate his aerosport bag anymore.
also bags mounted lower on a shock or modified strut will probably have to run higher pressure than others whose bag isn't mounted as low.

Thanks everyone. My assumptions were correct but at the time they were just that "assumptions". So I made this thread.
I understand what you're saying Mike. I can't/won't give up too much of my lift. If I did I couldn't make it into my garage (driveway too steep). I'm talking 1/2" lower front drive height max.

It's a nice luxury to have and even if you barley have lift that little that you do have is better than none

i'm referring to the guys that need 150psi to get an inch of ground clearance. seems to be more popular in the east. we all know by now that it's personal preferance, some based on experience and some based on understanding, but i can't justify the trade off in this scenario. for those who ride higher or ride as low at less pressure it's a different case and while my position doesn't change as to what i prefer the pros/cons are at least more equal.
