2012 Nissan Quest

I picked this up a few months ago, gathered information and started the build. Im not going too crazy on this as I do still need to lug the family around in it. Not planning to go extreme VIP on it but definitely going to fix it up a little. 

Will be installing coilovers or Air Runner. Still deciding but I have to admit, it looks good lowered. I'm having a front bumper made using the elgrand highway star with stock elgrand foglights so it should look decent. 

With the wheels on (lowered with ps) / One side Work Meister S1R / M1R on the other.

Nice! I enjoy seeing rides I would of never before driven once they are fixed up!

Been in Japan a few weeks and love the Elgrand and IMO I think the Quest front is just as nice. It looks great just with rims and drop which is quite common here. Love it, wish I could afford the payment on one, but I'll give it a few years to depreciate and I really think I'll get one.

Definitely go air if you plan to still take the family around. Just makes comfy and can ride at stock height when need be!

glad to see someone breaking the mold and building a van. wheels are cool for that sporty build. I often see many poeple go for the sporty look with their vans here  :/  But a luxury style wheel will look so much better...

ANd the factory fron bumper is hideous....look like a carp mouth to me....

looks good Mark! i ended up with a silver one. I did some research and HKS makes a coil over system geared toward comfort but haven't found anything for the air ride. I'm always a bit worried about doing up the van since we park it outside and the wife may be prone to complaining about a harsh ride! Are you going to do the headlight conversion or shaping the bumper to work with the USDM head lights?

I always wanted to do a El Grande conversion. These Quests are pretty hot! Saw the Asian market version in Hong Kong, front end is very nice.

Here's #avancalledquest now as it sits with Air Runner & a very nice INNO rack. The wheels on one side is Work S1R, the other is Work M1R. Im going to try to fit the front end on this week. If it fits well, we'll send that to paint and re-install everything next week.

Knowing the van width is 5" narrower in Japan, the tail lights wont fit, unless you cut up another center piece to extend it. I measured the van in Japan the last time I visited and although it uses the same doors, side skirts, sliding doors, fenders, they made the van narrower to accomodate for the smaller roads in Japan, or since it was made for the US market, they wanted to get away from the tall/narrow vans of japan and make it a bit wider for american / hamburger lifestyle.

curious how the rear wheels will play out. From what I remember the door hugs pretty close to the body when opened

Update on the quest.. Im putting the elgrand front end on. A friend bought my first front end from me but returned it since he didnt want to chop it up. So now I have 2 front ends and will be testing and cutting it up to fit tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Wasnt as difficult as I thought. What really makes a difference is ordering the Nissan Elgrand bumper support and foam. You really need to do this so the bumper really fits like it should.

Steps to making this work good.
1. Cut JDM bumper in half down the center. (usdm bumper is 5" wider so you need to do this in order to make it fit right.

2. Order a 2nd JDM bumper for cutting up or Use USDM bumper parts to fill the center of the JDM bumper. Get creative. :)

3. Order 2 grills, extend. (im waiting for 2 more grills to come incase i make a mistake.

4. In the meantime, fill holes of left and right side of grill with random chrome grill found on a pathfinder grill (65 bucks)

5. Order a bug shield deflector or massage your hood to line up to fenders. I ordered a bug shield deflector since it doesnt bother me much. 

I think it turned out pretty good. I actually cant wait for my 2nd JDM bumper to come so I can fill the center perfectly.

curious to know how much all the parts were

Fenders, bumper, grill, support, foam & headlights (most expensive) cost about 2000 (used parts minus support & foam which i got from the nissan dealer in japan). Shipping was a bitch. Another 1750 cause the parts were huge and I also shipped a jdm hood which I didnt use at all.

if you used the jdm hood, would it line up better with the fenders?

I don't think it's wide enough...

nice build. The el grande are so dope.  That jdm asian front end is so good looking!

so the jdm asian versions are actually wider ? I always thought they were identical to usdm except for cosmetic differences.
