Re-Introduction of myself and my 1993 Toyota Celsior

I really can't remember if I introduced myself and if I did it really wasn't a worth while introduction. My name is Ryan and I currently started working on my Celsior. I am new to the scene so I am open to suggestions and will probably be looking for advice.

As you can probably tell by my username, up until a few weeks ago I was a Nissan owner.

I had owned the above car for six years and over those six years I built it from near stock. I am sure nobody really wants to hear about this car. Anyway, I am a pretty big drifting fan and had originally built the car for grass roots drifting but where I live in Canada, there isn't much for drifting. Plus, I manage content for a online publication that covers automotive culture across Canada. So when I do go to events I am usually behind the camera and not in front of it.

So I sold the 180SX and decided to focus on my daily.

I had bought the Celsior with 134,000 KM on it. Oddly enough it has cloth interior but is equipped with seat messagers that also recline. The passenger seat also does that weird fold forward thing for additional leg room in the back. So after selling the 180, I took some of the money and invested it into the Celsior.

I purchased the K-sport Deluxe air suspension from Sonic Motors and then came across some AME AX's from Sakurajima Express.

The wheels are 18x9+25 upfront with a 7mm Spacer and 18x10+28 in the rear. The wheels came with rubber that I am using for now but they are less than desirable sizes.

Like I said I am new to scene and have done a bit of lurking on here but I am open to suggestions and advice.

That is weird, I was originally looking at a first Gen Aristo, but realized that it would be harder to find parts for it. I was in a bit of a hurry so after a bit of research I settled on the 93. If I had more time I would have probably waited for a second gen Aristo or the LS400 you have. Oh wells, things happen for a reason. Now I want to learn as much about this scene as possible.

Thanks, I am curious as to what I will do next with the car, I am open to suggestions. I have noticed that a lot of VIP style cars are made up in the details. Now, I make no claims to being VIP but I do appreciate a lot about said style. Where might I begin looking for further motivation or parts for this car? I was thinking I would like to replace the front grill and maybe look into an exhaust system. However, most of my research on the exhaust has been unrewarding. I do know some guys that travel to Japan to buy parts so maybe they will have luck tracking some things down for me.

The paint isn't really where I would want it to be, so I have been looking into what I professional detailer can do with the paint. Or perhaps even a vinyl wrap if I could only find a color that suits the car.

Everything is still up in the air but I suppose now is the time to start researching.

Nice ride.
If that's as low as it will go right now I'd pay some attention to getting it lower. Cut holes for front UCA's or more camber.
mother than that IMHO the next step would be a more exterior work like a body kit or custom kit.
i think you should sit down and figure out where you want the car to go style wise - older clean VIP or new tuner VIP.

the best thing to do with these cars imo is keep it simple. look for rare/unique period correct, or correct appearing, accesories. when you try and all out build these cars you either end up with a very dated looking style (which is cool if that's your thing) or an old car with modern styling that doesn't flow at all (never cool).

Yeah, I would rather find things that suit the vehicle and the era opposed to new things. I will just need to research the details and find the accessories that I want. Also, the tire sizes that came on the wheels aren't great so those will have to be changed.

First two things on my list are either a Fabulous or Junction Produce grill. Then I will hopefully start looking at some type of exhaust for this unit.

I haven't done much to the car lately, it is winter here so I am holding off on things for a bit.
I did however take the car on a little 3000 mile road trip a few months ago. We drove down to Vegas from Canada for SEMA.

The drive doesn't really get good until Salt Lake City plus it was snowing in Montana so it was little sketchy for a bit. However, you totally should drive your car down, just line it up with some type of event you can bring it to. The one thing I regret about this year is not going to VIP fest. I think yours would be a big hit down there.

Thats what I was thinking. Try and hit up a cool event or two this coming summer. Seems like it would be a good time. If your ever Alberta bound hit me up. Dont see to many other Celsiors around.

I think myself or one the other DODOlogic contributors are going to try to do a feature on Poor Form this up-coming season. Hopefully as long as we can figure out logistics.
